Senior Software Engineer (CLI)

Our Opportunity

Snyk CLI brings the functionality of Snyk into the development workflow. CLI scanning supports multiple content types, languages and tools and it enables developers to identify security issues while also providing meaningful and actionable results to fix those issues. We support running the CLI locally from the command line, in an IDE, or in a CI/CD pipeline. 

We are looking for a talented software engineer with a passion for creative problem solving to join the CLI Engineering team and our journey in continuously innovating the CLI experience. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to enable developers worldwide to build more secure applications efficiently. You will work in and contribute to a collaborative and diverse environment, while leveraging the latest development methodologies.

If you feel comfortable programming in Golang and/or Typescript or willing to learn these languages we’d love to meet you.

You’ll Spend Your Time:

• Shaping our product and guiding the team on work which spans multiple components and teams
• Innovating through strategic design improvements that deliver both short-term gains and long-term competitive advantages
• Actively contributing code, prototyping and developing testing strategies with a bias for action, and focusing on iterative delivery
• Fostering an environment of inclusion and growth through pairing, feedback and mentoring
• Collaborating with Product and Design teams to understand key requirements and translate them into functional features
• Working with teams across Snyk to ensure consistent developer experience for all of Snyk’s products 

What You’ll Need:

• High standards for code quality, testing, and iterative, continuous delivery 
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience developing software using one of our programming languages
• Experience with development tooling like CLI and CI/CD tools
• A drive to develop Snyk CLI to enhance developer velocity and enable innovation
• Passion for technical and project leadership
• Collaboration skills for pair programming and code reviews
• Efficient communication skills, both written and verbally through asynchronous collaboration tools, comprehensive documentation practices and transparent work visibility.

We’d be Lucky if You:

• Have a demonstrable track record of technical or project leadership
• Have strong focus around validation and high product reliability
• Are familiar with packaged software architecture and deployment strategies
