WHO YOU ARE:

As a Web Engineer Lead, you will be responsible for managing and leading the technical aspects of web development projects for Snowflake’s global web properties. 

This position serves a pivotal role, synthesizing technical acumen with managerial oversight working with internal teams and external agency partners. You will collaborate with program managers and other stakeholders to plan and estimate web development projects including defining scope, timelines and resource requirements. In addition to managing web development projects, you will need to understand the unique needs and behaviors of a B2B audience. This includes prioritizing fast load times, mobile responsiveness,  and other key performance indicators that drive leads and conversions.

You are a self-starter with a can-do attitude. An engineer who loves to think about how to optimize the engineering process at scale, but also recognizes the realities of day to day work. You are able to manage your own projects in a timely manner and execute with a high attention to detail while comfortably prioritizing to meet deadlines  in a function that manages a high volume of work.

This role reports to the Director, Web Experience and is part of the larger Brand Marketing function which  includes Brand Management, Brand Design, Voice and Storytelling, Video Production, and Customer Marketing.

This is a hybrid role, with a dedicated three days in the San Mateo office.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Be a critical member of the Web Experience team responsible for developing and maintaining a world class global web presence to intended to drive loyalty, engagement, and sales
  • Lead the architecture, development, and ongoing maintenance of Snowflake corporate websites, predominantly built on Adobe Experience Manager
  • Collaborate with program managers and key stakeholders to plan and estimate web development projects, including defining scope, timelines and resource requirements
  • Provide technical leadership to external web development teams, including guiding architectural decisions, setting code standards and ensuring best practices are followed  while mitigating risks
  • Conduct code reviews, quality assurance testing and troubleshoot complex issues while guiding them to fast resolution
  • Leverage analytics and user behavior data to make informed decisions on web features and optimizations, specifically geared towards enhancing B2B customer engagement and lead qualification
  • Come together with UX/UI designers, production, and program managers to translate conceptual designs into fully functional web experiences
  • Align the public facing engineering efforts with the capabilities and usability of the CMS for Snowflake authors to enable fast updates 
  • Manage workflow by providing frequent updates on project statuses, milestones, and ROI metrics to leadership 
  • Work cross functionally with the border brand marketing team, product marketing, growth marketing,  content marketing, and other relevant departments to ensure web alignment across all customer touchpoints 
  • Proactively contribute to project discussions and brainstorming sessions, bringing fresh and innovative ideas to the table
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging web technologies to enhance the overall brand experience and keep our digital presence at the forefront of innovation
  • In time, build a team of web developers to help manage and maintain Snowflake sites at scale

WHAT YOU’LL HAVE:

  • A blend of education, extensive hands-on experience, management skills, and proven ability to drive successful web initiatives 
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, facilitate cross-departmental collaborations, and manage external vendor relationships effectively
  • Proven experience in developing business to business web solutions with a focus on performance optimization, lead generation, and conversion rate improvement
  • Expertise in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, wordpress,  along with experience with modern frameworks such as React and Vue and version control systems like Git and CI/CD
  • An agile approach to shipping systems — perfect is the enemy of good, but continuous improvements and optimization are necessary for advancing scale
  • Track record of impact in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high-quality output
  • Experience working for hyper-growth companies and comfortable balancing the need to execute quickly while setting for scale 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION:

  • Proven experience with 8+ years of web engineering experience leading well known business to business, technology brands
  • Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar discipline
  • Expertise and certifications in Adobe Experience Manager
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, JIRA and Wrike a plus
  • Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, training, and a strong track record of success in web engineering and development
