Senior Machine Learning Data Engineer 1 (Feature Engineering and Analytics)

We are looking for a senior data engineer with a strong focus on feature engineering and ML data systems. This role centers on designing and scaling pipelines that transform raw data into high-quality, reusable features for machine learning and analytics.
You will work closely with data scientists and ML engineers to build robust feature pipelines, ensure consistency between training and inference, and optimize data workflows for performance and reliability.
🛠 What You’ll Get Your Hands On:
- Design and maintain scalable feature engineering pipelines for batch and real-time use cases
- Ensure consistency between offline training data and online inference features
- Collaborate with ML teams to define, build, and iterate on features
- Optimize feature pipelines for performance and latency
- Implement data validation and monitoring for feature reliability
- Contribute to feature store-like abstractions (reusable, versioned features)
- Lead improvements in data modeling and transformation layers (e.g., dbt)
- Support downstream consumers with feature-ready datasets
- Drive best practices for feature versioning, reuse, and documentation
🧙♂️ The Magic You Bring
- Strong programming skills (Python, PySpark, or similar)
- Solid understanding of feature engineering techniques (aggregation, encoding, time-based features, leakage prevention)
- Experience designing data pipelines for ML use cases
- Strong SQL skills (CTEs, window functions, complex transformations)
- Experience with distributed data processing (Spark)
- Knowledge of data modeling for analytics and ML
- Experience with feature stores or similar patterns (or building reusable feature layers)
- Strong understanding of data quality, validation, and governance
- Software design skills (patterns, modular design, maintainability)
