Your Role

We are seeking a Senior Energy Engineer to focus on energy optimization projects for complex central plant-based facilities. Your role is to design, develop, and evaluate energy options that will reduce costs and/or improve efficiency for complex commercial facilities. Evaluation, analysis, inspection, field testing, and troubleshooting, including but not limited to LL87 retro-commissioning, chiller testing, pump testing, pressure testing, flow testing, etc.

  • Compliance and Design: Maintain current knowledge of advances in new and alternative energy options, especially related to construction and design, changes related to ASHRAE Standards, Certification Programs, and NYC/NYS Energy Code. Develop and/or commission energy management routines for automation systems throughout facilities.

  • Client Relations and Coordination: Develop and present findings in a professional manner to internal senior staff and customers. Work with vendors and contractors to obtain pricing on potential ECMs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering followed by 5-7 years of experience in the building energy efficiency industry (or related field).

  • 5+ years of performing energy audits and Retro-Cx projects (Commissioning/Retro-Commissioning).

  • Experience in energy conservation measure development, saving and incentive calculations.

  • A clear understanding and experience in leveraging software tools and developing energy models for complex facilities is a requirement, including eQUEST, IESVE, or Trane Trace 700.

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT), CEM, or Certified Building Commissioning Professional license preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.

Must be located within 50 miles of New York City.
