MPS – Midstream Production Systems: A2O Engineer Profile

Purpose of Audit to Optimize Engineer Role:

The Audit to Optimise (A2O) initiative was developed to drive sales and develop customer relationships by utilizing a proactive approach to solve our customers most complex and challenging problems.

Our A2O Engineers are preferably mobilized to the field to investigate and review the customers asset. This may consist of remote technical support in a post COVID market. The audit may be on MPS legacy, or competitor’s equipment. The deliverable of the audit is a set of recommendations to address customer pain points. The resolution mechanism/vehicle could include any one combination of MPS product offerings.

The primary goal of the A2O programme is to generate new and repeat business by building and maintaining relationships with customers.

Necessary Competencies for the Role

Product Line Knowledge: It is necessary to have ample practical and theoretical knowledge of MPS’s product line. This should have been acquired from a combination of Field Service Experience and Desktop Engineering. The product line is vast, so it is unlikely that all candidates will have had exposure to everything. However, there experience should be such that their fundamental understand of process engineering and practical knowledge should allow them to confidently audit unfamiliar equipment with minimal training and guidance.

Engineering Knowledge: High degree of understanding of the following: P&IDs, PFDs, I&O Manuals, FAT documents, Process Data Sheets, General Assembly Drawings, Isometrics.

Key Technology Exposure for ACE: Electrostatic Coalescers (On and offshore applications), Produced Water Treatment (PWT) e.g CPI, Cyclones, IGF, NSFs, Cartridge Filters, Surface Pumps. Sea Water Treatment e.g SRP, ECU, Dearation Tower, Membranes, SW Lift Pumps. Valves: Block, Control, Orbit, PSV.

Personality: We need a self-starter who is extremely motivated. This role requires autonomy from day one. The candidate will be given a sales target and expected to generate their own leads and opportunities. This is an absolute must from the candidate.

Commercial Awareness: Client facing experience is essential. This role is client facing with the main objective of increasing Aftermarket and Capital Sales for MPS. The candidate should be family with proposal documents (Budget/Firm) and process of winning PO.

Communication Skills: Candidate must have exception communication skills and personality. They should be an engaging personality who is able to strike up a conversation and relationship easily. The candidate will enjoy presenting in front of audiences and be comfortable talking to audiences with a range of technical ability. E.g Operators, Technicians, Engineers, Business Managers, Vendors. Written communication is also essential to deliver concise technical reports with specific recommendations from the audit.

Field Experience: The candidate should have adequate experience working in onshore and offshore environments. The role will require frequent trips to the field to perform physical tasks. The candidate must be competent working in a field environment. They also need to be able to identify our equipment to collect data etc.

Language Skills: Candidate should have fluent English (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening) and also be competent in language of key country in which A2O audits will be conducts. E.g if based in MCA, Spanish is essential.

Industry Knowledge: Understanding key stakeholders is essential so our Engineers are speaking to and organising meetings with the correct personnel who have access to budget. The candidate should be familiar with typical business set up of Oil Field. They should understand and be familiar with the following E.g Operators, EPCs, Contractors, Vendors, Supply Chains, Joint Ventures, Engineering/Design Houses, Sales Agents.

A relavent Degree/ Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.

5 years experience in a relavent position.
