Senior Cloud Operations Engineer

The Senior Cloud Operations Engineer is responsible for managing the cloud infrastructure and services of our organization. This  role involves ensuring the availability, performance, and scalability of cloud-based systems and applications. You will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure and services, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of cloud-based systems and applications. You will  leverage automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting skills to maintain a reliable and scalable cloud environment for the organization.

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

• You are responsible for setting up and managing the cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and security configurations. 

• You will monitor the performance and health of cloud-based systems and applications, identifying and resolving moderate to difficult issues related to availability, latency, and throughput. You use monitoring tools to track system metrics, analyze performance data, and implement moderate and difficult optimizations to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

• You will respond to escalated incidents and troubleshoot difficult system issues, working closely with cross-functional teams like DevOps, developers, and system administrators. You follow incident management processes to minimize downtime and ensure timely resolution of difficult issues.

• You will implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational policies. You can configure access controls, encryption, and monitoring mechanisms to protect data and systems in the cloud, as well as, assist in escalated incident response related to security incidents.

• You will analyze system usage patterns, forecast resource requirements, and plan for capacity upgrades to meet growing demands. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that the cloud infrastructure is scalable, cost-effective, and optimized for performance.

• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to understand their requirements and provide support, and will document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides to maintain an up-to-date knowledge base.

• You act as Senior agent to difficult cloud alerts involving around the Sisense Application and be able to act as an advanced support agent on these alerts

WHAT YOU’VE ACCOMPLISHED SO FAR: 

• You have 5+ years of experience managing cloud infrastructure for a growing organization

• You have experience managing cloud infrastructure

• You have expertise in tools like Ansible, Terraform, or AWS CloudFormation to achieve infrastructure automation and orchestration, enabling consistent and repeatable deployments.

• You have experience working with cloud service providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to provision and configure the necessary resources.

Depending on your location, you may need to work from a Sisense office once or twice a week, in accordance with any policies in effect at the time.

CO Posting: The base pay range for candidates located in Colorado is $110,000-$120,000 (/yr). The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to market location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, experience and training, education, skill sets, and other business and organizational needs. A bonus, equity, commissions, and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered. This position may be considered a promotional opportunity. The disclosed salary range represents an estimate of the base compensation for candidates who can or will be located in Colorado. This range may vary with respect to candidates whose primary work location is outside those jurisdictions.

NYC and CA Posting: The base pay range for candidates located in New York City and California is $110,000-$120,000 (/yr).
