Position Overview

At SingleStore we're not just building a database company, we are defining the future of data management. As a Software Engineer on the infrastructure platform team, you will be contributing to our internal applications that power engineering productivity at SingleStore. Your expertise in building out distributed applications will drive technical decisions critical to both team and company success.

As a senior software engineer on this team, you will have the unique benefit of building systems software in a rapid production environment with a small and collaborative team. This includes overseeing the direction, design and development of key features that can be attributed to just a handful of engineers. In this position, you will be empowered to leverage your technical, leadership, and business acumen while mentoring other engineers who are eager to learn from you.

Role and Responsibilities

• Build observable microservice-oriented applications that empower our engineers to build, test, and monitor our applications in a multi-cloud environment 
• Design and implement novel technical solutions that raises engineering productivity throughout the company
• Relentlessly improve upon CI/CD throughput, debugging/triage operations, and workload execution runtimes for a global engineering workforce
• Work within a highly performing team to create the most productive development culture that the world has ever seen

Required Skills and Experience

• Passion for Quality Engineering and software testing efficiency
• 5+ Years of experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Python, C/C++, JavaScript, or Go.
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes based applications running in the public cloud or in on premises data centers (you’ll have both available to you)
• Comprehension of GitOps and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Deep interest and experience working on distributed systems, databases, networking, storage, and multi-tenant services, and Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience working with C/C++, CMake is a plus
• Knowledge with database internals, query engine / optimization is a plus
• B.S. degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a similar field
