Junior Software Developer

Overview

We are seeking a Jr. Software Developer with 2+ years of experience developing software for tactical systems to join our team. This position requires on-site presence at NSWCDD or contractor facility at least 3-4 days per week.

Clearance

An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications
• 2+ years of software development experience with basic programming languages, technologies, tools, or web development stacks
• Experience writing source code for new applications or generating and enhancing code samples for existing applications 
• Experience using back-end and front-end languages to develop complete solutions 
• Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative team environment 
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance 
• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree 

Responsibilities

• Write, modify, and implement source code for new full-stack applications and expand features within existing codebases.
• Develop end-to-end solutions using both front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, React) and back-end languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Python, C#, C/C++, .NET, NodeJS).
• Partner with cross-functional team members to troubleshoot technical issues, engineer solutions to complex problems, and deliver features in an Agile environment.
• Work with team members and clients to understand functional requirements and replace manual processes with optimized software automation.
• Utilize automated testing tools to write test cases, perform continuous maintenance, and ensure overall system reliability.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with Agile methodology, extreme programming, software engineering, product management, and software products 
• Experience with Java, Python, C#, C, C++, .NET, JavaScript, React, or NodeJS 
• Ability to acquire client requirements and resolve workflow problems through automation optimization 
• Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance
• Active Secret clearance 

Education

Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree

Compensation

Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.

 

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $75,000 - $110,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
