WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

Join the Standard Configuration Framework area to develop XMGR, SimCorp’s configuration-management platform for SimCorp Dimension. You will help make configuration changes reliable, repeatable and traceable across development, test and production environments, supporting both cloud-hosted and on-premises deployments.

This is a hands-on, C#/.NET-focused senior engineering role with opportunities to contribute across the stack. XMGR combines ASP.NET Core APIs, an Angular/TypeScript UI, Entity Framework Core and relational databases, with asynchronous messaging and workflow processing. You will evolve an established platform and turn complex configuration requirements into maintainable software.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Build and evolve C#/.NET services and ASP.NET Core APIs
  • Design reliable asynchronous workflows with clear failure handling, safe retries and useful diagnostics, protecting configuration integrity when operations fail or are interrupted.
  • Improve security, authorization, auditability, performance and observability; diagnose issues across application and integration boundaries.
  • Improve automated unit and integration testing, code review and CI/CD; refactor existing code incrementally while preserving compatibility and behaviour
  • Provide technical leadership through design discussions, mentoring and knowledge sharing; collaborate across engineering, configuration and platform teams to deliver the team’s definition of done.

WHAT WE VALUE

  • Degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience ranging from 3 to 5 years developing production software in C#/.NET, with evidence of owning complex features and making sound technical decisions
  • Experience building ASP.NET Core services and REST APIs, including API contracts, asynchronous programming, dependency injection and robust error handling.
  • Practical application of object-oriented design, SOLID principles and appropriate design patterns; ability to navigate, debug and safely improve an established codebase.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL, using Entity Framework Core or a comparable ORM; understand data modelling, validation, serialization and schema compatibility.
  • Understanding of reliable distributed or long-running operations: concurrency, retries, idempotency and partial failures, with the ability to diagnose problems using logs and telemetry.
  • Strong automated unit and integration testing skills; experience with peer reviews, Git and CI/CD, and a commitment to maintainability, security and release quality.
  • Ability to clarify requirements with domain stakeholders and collaborate in an Agile team; willingness to work across backend APIs and web UI when a feature requires it.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience with configuration-management or deployment-automation systems: versioned artifacts, dependency resolution, environment promotion, baseline comparison or audit trails.
  • Angular and TypeScript experience, particularly reactive programming with RxJS and state management such as NgRx.
  • Asynchronous messaging (for example NATS), OData APIs, Oracle or SQL Server, and application telemetry such as OpenTelemetry.
  • Azure, enterprise authentication/authorization, Docker or Kubernetes, and automated build and deployment pipelines.
  • Experience modernizing .NET applications while preserving integration compatibility; familiarity with NUnit, NSubstitute or equivalent testing tools.
  • Experience in enterprise or financial software; familiarity with SimCorp Dimension is welcome but not required.

Prior experience with XMGR or the Standard Configuration Framework is not required; you should be willing to learn the product and configuration domain.

PERSONAL COMPETENCIES

  • Take responsibility for, apply sound judgement and balance delivery with long-term quality
  • Work constructively across cultures and disciplines; share knowledge, mentor colleagues and contribute to an inclusive team environment.
  • Communicate clearly in spoken and written English, including technical decisions and documentation.
