We're looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join the AI Engineering team, bringing Silverfort's AI transformation to life at two levels: the infrastructure layer, building and unlocking a platform that lets the organization run AI in production, and the product layer, building the AI features that run on it. The team builds access protection features, like agents that run in real time when access is requested and make a decision, or background agents that continuously analyze the organization's environment, as well as the infrastructure that powers them.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the core AI platform consumed across the company
• Build AI-powered features end-to-end, from real-time access decisions to background analysis agents
• Own the full lifecycle: research emerging models and frameworks, build evaluation harnesses, and make the reliability, latency, and cost tradeoffs that decide what ships
• Drive your work end-to-end, partnering with product, engineering, and other teams across the company as needed to make things happen
• Set technical direction and architecture for a new team, establishing the patterns and infrastructure other teams will build on
• Architect and build a company-wide initiative on a clean slate, setting the standards from day one

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend software development experience, including designing and owning production systems end-to-end
• The team works primarily in TypeScript/Node.js. Strong backend engineering skills are required, but excellence in another language isn't a blocker
• Proven track record taking systems from 0 to 1 under real ambiguity, without an existing playbook
• Strong system architecture and design skills, able to make reliability, latency, and scale tradeoffs independently
• Experience working with SQL databases
• Comfortable exploring new and unproven technologies, quick to prototype and validate
• Good collaboration skills, comfortable partnering across the organization as needed to move your work forward
• Hands-on production experience with AI agent systems - a strong advantage
• Information security or identity platform background - an advantage
• Experience with NestJS, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Kafka, or Nx monorepos - an advantage
