Siemens EDA has an opportunity for a Technical Project Manager to join the Build and Infrastructure Group for their flagship Calibre product. This team supports multiple aspects of the software development process including:

  • Source code management
  • Porting C++ code to various environments and architectures
  • Third party tools for software development and QA
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Setting up and maintaining infrastructure both on-premises and in the could
  • Administering on-premise compute clusters
  • Build and release management 

As a Technical Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading local and remote teams on projects and other business initiatives in partnership with key stakeholders that support organizational and departmental goals and strategic initiatives. You’ll be responsible for managing complex technology and application projects through the entire project life-cycle and own the responsibility for ensuring the successful outcome of the projects within defined cost, schedule, and performance boundaries.

You’ll conduct productive meetings, manage client expectations and communications from the VP-level to individual contributors, adapt plans to respond to changing business priorities, monitor projects and take appropriate action when goals are not being met, and follow up with clients to make sure that results meet or exceed expectations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Actively managing complex, cross-functional projects in a software development setting.
  • Translating the purpose and vision of projects into clear goals for stakeholders; ensuring that all stakeholders are on board and that projects are moving in the right direction.
  • Creating and using project plans to detail each phase/task of the project, including clear milestones and assignment of project task responsibilities, and taking accountability for the accuracy of forecasted results.
  • Determining the scope, time requirements, and allocation of available resources to each phase of the project. Driving on-time, on-budget, and quality execution of all implementation projects.
  • Ensuring that project documentation is regularly updated.
  • Leading and document project meetings, and communicating progress to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Gathering data and analyzing metrics and trends to evaluate the success of overall project.
  • Appling risk and issue management to mitigate or remove barriers to project success.
  • Managing day-to-day execution of project implementations.
  • Demonstrating effective communication skills, including proactive communication with customers, project teams, and leadership.
  • Continuously driving process improvement. Communicating with project teams on learnings, challenges, and customer feedback, in order to facilitate continuous process improvement.

Job Qualifications and Competencies:

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in the IT/Technology and Applications and/or Software Development field.
  • Consideration given to SCRUM or other agile methodology certification, and to PMI PMP certification in project management or equivalent.
  • A thorough understanding of Project Life Cycle management.
  • Experience managing technical projects with a base comprehension of networking, servers, clients, operating systems, virtualization, containers, storage, backups, disaster recovery, SaaS, data center implementations & operations, cloud computing, software development processes, agile methodologies, CICD, and general technology stack knowledge
  • A base comprehension and respect for Cyber Security principles and protection concepts.
  • Successful project management experience of complex and highly-visible cross-functional projects involving change management within a fast-paced, global, and dynamic organization.
  • Demonstrated understanding of project governance and project management methodologies and experience in strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Teams, SharePoint, etc.) and Atlassian products (Jira, Jira Service Desk, Confluence, etc.) preferred.
  • This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).  Employment is contingent on either verifying the U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.

    The salary range for this position is $121,400 to $218,500 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.  Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
