Overview of position

Working independently and as part of group of Agile Scrum teams in the EU, US and worldwide, developing breakthrough Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software, which is used by our customers to create a variety of amazing products, from smartphones to satellite systems. We believe in Agile development, so our engineering teams are expected to be self-sufficient and perform without the classical management structure. Furthermore, these teams foster a culture that allows everyone to express their views, be a contributor, and grow as a professional.

You will be a member of EDM team

EDM (Enterprise Data Management) is a Data Hub for all electronic CAD data: library data, design data, component information, models and simulation data, managed blocks, and related documents. EDM enables and accelerates collaboration on schematics, layouts, parts or reuse blocks. EDM applications are in web and desktop format.

Our customers are in all industries: computer systems, electronics, mobile, wireless, industry control systems, medical, semiconductors, telecommunications, automotive, mil-aero, space.

EDM team in Katowice comprises eight scrum teams.

What will you be doing?

• Your key role will be to develop new functionalities and support existing Java software solutions
• Creating automated tests
• Participating in software design and code review session
• Working on both front-end and back-end areas
• Cooperating with whole scrum team to create valuable outcome
• Learning and growing your skills with support of mentors on the team
• Taking a role of the team player: there will be more people like you!

How long will the internship last?

• 11 months with a possibility to be converted into a permanent position with Siemens.

What do you need to succeed?

• Student of degree in Computer/Software Engineering, Electronics or other related discipline, able to commit 20-40h/week for this job
• Conversational English
• Eligibility to work legally in Poland without immigration support
• Willingness to work independently and as part of the team
• Attention to details and high-quality work
• Some experience in Java and with object-oriented development - the rest you can learn with us!
• Python experience will be a plus
• Experience with client-server architecture will be a plus.
• Knowledge of Siemens Xpedition Enterprise software can help you but is not a must
