Catapult HLS AI Intern
Digital Design Creation Platforms – C2GDS
Catapult HLS is the predominant High-Level Synthesis tool in the industry for the creation of complex digital ASICs for many vertical markets including Video Compression, Wireless Communications, Vision/Machine Learning and ADAS subsystems. Our products incorporate all aspects of the digital design process – from high-performance early modelling and verification/validation into the HLS process using design space exploration to achieve the desired Power-Performance-Area goal and finally the RTL qualification process using High-Level Verification techniques including hardware-aware C++ code coverage, simulation and formal engine apps. AI is becoming a key differentiator in application performance and continues to be leveraged in Catapult HLS. This internship will be with the AI team of Catapult HLS, working on increasing the deployment of AI in HLS.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the AI team to explore the state-of-the-art AI research to identify techniques that can be used in HLS
- Design models and prototypes demonstrating the effectiveness of models
- Identify any potential modifications required to the Catapult intermediate representation (IR) in order to integrate the proposed model(s)
- Document the work, including identify testing strategies that could be applied by the QA team
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering with experience in the application of AI/ML to the digital design process
- Proficient in C++
- Proficient in AI platforms such as TensorFlow and Pytorch
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work efficiently in a Linux environment
