Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Baseline Requirements:

• Currently enrolled as a university undergraduate student
• Minimum 3.0 GPA 
• Authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship by the company
• Graduating in 2026 or 2027 with a bachelors degree
• Located in Pacific or Central time zone; comfortable working remotely

AI Software Engineer Intern

(Research & Development focus)

Our Technology & Innovation office (T&I) is responsible for high-tech, innovative research and design. T&I provides shared platform, architecture, innovation and development services. Project assignments in this organization vary greatly depending on the business needs. At times, students may:

• Collaborate with senior AI developers to design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions.
• Assist in data collection, preprocessing, and analysis to support model training and validation.
• Implement and optimize machine learning algorithms and models under guidance.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure the quality and reliability of AI applications.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI research and technology to contribute innovative ideas to the team.
• Document code, processes, and results for future reference and knowledge sharing.

Organization Requirements: 

• Studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Strong coding skills in Python.  Other languages like Java or C++ is a plus.
• Familiarity with popular machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn).
• Knowledge of developing with language models is desirable.
• Understanding of fundamental concepts in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning.
• Upper classman is preferred (with prior co-op experience)
• Student must be proactive, capable of setting their own timelines, able to work independently, and disciplined
• Rapidly learn new development languages and coding techniques
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming is a must
• Understand the concept of class and inheritance 
• Sharp and tenacious trouble shooting skills
