Siemens’ Site Controls™ Energy Management System (EMS) is a sophisticated yet easy-to-use, cloud-based energy and facilities management solution that helps companies automatically and systematically reduce energy consumption without impacting the customer experience. Site Controls significantly reduces energy costs and enhances building occupants comfort by monitoring and controlling heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, lighting, refrigeration, submetering, and more. This integrated approach has been proven effective in large chain Fortune 500 retailers, health clubs, restaurants, and branch banks throughout North America.


Software Engineers, you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of engineers to enhance and develop applications for the Siemens' Site Controls Energy Management System. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining applications for the EMS supervisory controller and other embedded systems.


As a Software Engineer II, you will: 

  • Design, implement, test, troubleshoot, and enhance software and firmware applications for energy management and control devices 
  • Develop test strategies for verifying application functionality during development and release cycles
  • Create and review technical documentation for internal processes and external customer support
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to understand and elaborate on market requirements, proposing and implementing product designs. Demonstrate advanced understanding of quality attributes and their impact on software products, design, and development.
  • Participate in and propose design alternatives through prototyping
  • Be passionate and self-motivated to learn, with a keen interest in constantly improving and developing skills to stay current with technology
  • Participate in resolving field problems related to the application of existing products
  • Ensure that secure coding practices are followed

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of full-time proven experience with a general-purpose programming language (Java, Python, C/C++, etc.)
  • Hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting experience
  • Hands-on experience with Git or similar Source Code Management (SCM) tools
  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED
  • Practitioner of development practices for software documentation and test-driven designs
  • Works well in teams and on individual assignments
  • Actively shares knowledge and expertise with fellow team members
  • Able to provide reliable estimates for tasks and project scopes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • This role requires a physical presence in the office at least three days a week
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

  • The pay range for this position is $67,480 - $115,680. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
