What are the responsibilities? 
You would join us, to be part of our internal digital product development teams to drive digitalization in aviation. Our innovative software runs on premises or on cloud, is constantly up to date with the latest cyber security standards and brings together a lot of data sources and stakeholders around airport operations. The major tasks of the job will include:
  • Understand, operate and improve our software that runs for the biggest airports in the world. You will build up a deep expertise about the airport operations domain, the underlying processes and how they are supported and implemented with software. 
  • Requirement analysis and solution design with modern architecture concepts implemented with state-of-the-art technologies, including data streaming, messaging, data processing, micro services, APIs, databases/warehouse/lakes, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and UI/UX
  • Integration into existing software and development platforms and further technical evolution of our solutions in line with our international setup and business strategy
  • Test-driven development with passion to deliver high software quality, e.g., by conducting code reviews and by processing several testing stages and quality gates
  • Support our project execution teams to deliver our solutions for our customers, e.g., in data integration works

What do you need to qualify for this job?
  • University degree in computer science, software engineering or comparable studies
  • Proficiency in English both spoken and written
  • You have a passion to deliver high quality results, to deploy and operate the solutions in real projects
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience with Java, Maven and frameworks such as Spring (or similar)
  • Experience with:
    • Java development according to Java coding guidelines
    • Microservices (both client and server)
    • Interface/APIs such as, data streaming (e.g., Kafka) and REST
    • API documentation tools (e.g. Swagger, Postman, OpenAPI)
    • Relational and/or Non-Relational databases
    • Testing tools/methodologies
    • Frontend development with HTML, CSS, Javascript and frameworks such as Vue.js, React or Angular
    • CI/CD tools (Gitlab or similar)
    • Version control tools (GIT)
    • Unit testing frameworks such as JUnit 
  • Familiarity with UNIX and shell scripting
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS
  • Interest in working in cloud solutions
  • Pro-active, team player
  • It will be valued experience in:
    • Docker, Kafka, Kafka Streams and ElasticSearch
    • Event Driven Development
  • Additional:
    • Occasional travel may be required
