Siemens is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Senior Software Engineer to join the R&D team for Siemens Xpedition® EDM (Engineering Data Management). This advanced product suite supports the creation and management of engineering components, libraries, and design data, ensuring quality, integrity, and security throughout the product development lifecycle. It aims to enhance collaboration among large, distributed engineering teams and facilitate the reuse of core IP data.

Key Responsibilities:

• The Software Engineer is accountable for developing, testing, and documenting new and modified functionality within the EDM application.
• In a fast-paced Agile environment, the position works across functional domains to apply their experiences and skills to varied engineering tasks including, but not limited to, specification design, programming, unit testing, code review, debugging, defect resolution, test design, test authoring, test automation, and documentation authoring.
• Chip in in design discussions and in creating Detailed Design requirements based on software functional requirements.
• Development and execution of unit tests to support ongoing development efforts.Maintain development environments in a multiple branch software code management system.
• Provide technical support to multiple teams including other cross-functional teams, global support, and services, among others.

Job Qualification

• Over 10 years of experience in software development, including extensive work on enterprise solutions.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Deep expertise in Java programming with a strong grasp of the language's features and capabilities.
• Shown analytical skills with a solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and their practical applications.
• Proficient in object-oriented software design and design patterns, with a track record of implementing scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in dynamic and fast-paced environments.

Having the following skills can provide additional advantage:

• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure, including hands-on experience with cloud services, networking, and security.
• Strong scripting and programming skills (e.g., Python) for automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) development.
• Knowledge of DevOps principles and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, version control) for continuous integration and deployment.
• Knowledge of next generation virtualization and orchestration solutions using containerization including but not limited to Docker, Kubernetes, and Ranger.
• Understanding of networking concepts, virtualization, and storage technologies in cloud environments.
• Strong server-side Java or C++ skills, with a focus on performance.Expertise in multi-threaded programming.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Experience in distributed systems design and development.
