What is this opportunity?

Siemens Ruggedcom is seeking a Cybersecurity Support Engineer to join their team in Concord, Ontario to provide cyber security to their portfolio of networking products and over 200 users.

What will you do?

Software Security Enhancement:

• Implement and maintain security measures to protect software systems, including MS SQL Server, IIS, and ADO.
• Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans on software applications and databases.
• Develop and enforce security policies and best practices for software development and deployment.
• Collaborate with software development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Incident Response and Mitigation:

• Monitor and respond to security incidents related to software and databases.
• Investigate security breaches and work with relevant teams to mitigate risks and prevent future occurrences.
• Provide technical support for incident response activities, including forensic analysis and documentation.

Compliance and Auditing:

• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards related to software security.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for security audits and assessments.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during security reviews and assessments.

Training and Awareness:

• Develop and deliver training programs to increase awareness of software security practices among engineers and production staff.
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, and share knowledge with the team.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, IT, and network security, to enhance overall system security.
• Provide clear and concise reports and recommendations to management regarding security posture and improvement strategies.
• Collaboration and Communication:

What will you need to succeed?

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on software security.
• Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server, Internet Information Services, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with security tools and technologies such as vulnerability scanners, intrusion detection systems, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with software development processes, including Agile methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
