Siemens EDA is the longest standing Electronic Design Automation company in the world and over the last 30 years has amassed the finest technology portfolio in the business. Our software tools span the full breadth of semiconductor and electrical systems solutions including integrated circuit design and verification, PCB design & manufacturing solutions, cable harness design tools, and embedded software.
This position is a part of the Atlas Graduate Program. Through this program, you will receive 12 months of technical and non-technical training, mentorship from Siemens EDA executives and world-class engineers, and learn what it is like to work as part of a company that is solving software challenges in the area of electronic design automation.
We are looking for a highly motivated recent college graduate, based in the U.S., to join our R&D software engineering team within the Calibre engineering group of the Design to Silicon business unit. As a member of the LEAP (Learning through Exploration and Active Participation) team, you will work on pioneering models and algorithms for simulating projection lithography, a critical process in semiconductor manufacturing. Your role will involve enhancing performance by leveraging cutting-edge computing hardware, including GPUs and computer grids. You will collaborate with a team of talented researchers and engineers to develop innovative new approaches.
Responsibilities:
- Enhance the performance and usability of advanced lithography algorithms and models.
- Develop algorithms and solutions optimized for GPU hardware.
- Maintain and debug existing C++ code.
- Present detailed technical proposals and lead discussions with peers and management.
- Document new software through functional specifications.
- Conduct detailed, quantitative analysis of software performance and quality.
- Create unit and regression tests, and regularly monitor software performance and quality.
Required Skills:
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Programming skills in C++ and/or Python
- Basic knowledge of algorithm and data structure design.
- Excel both in a team-oriented development and working independently.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong programming skills in C++ or Python
- Knowledge of GPU programming and the Nvidia CUDA framework
- Basic knowledge of multi-threaded and/or distributed programming
- Software engineering skills using Unix/Linux operating systems.

Siemens Software. Transform the Everyday
The hourly range for this position is $51.92 to $61.54 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
