Devops Engineer Intern - 6 Months

About the Internship:

Shutterstock is looking for interns to join our Cloud DevOps team.

You will be working alongside highly motivated and exceptionally talented DevOps engineers, dedicated to building and maintaining robust infrastructure with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability at every stage. We emphasize strong team ownership of infrastructure, empowering the team to define the vision, shape the architecture, and prioritize projects that drive business impact and operational excellence.

You will join a diverse and international team based out of our Dublin offices, which are located at Sir John Rogerson's Quay.  Remote, hybrid or on-site positions can be supported.  

The day to day:

• Participate in all aspects of the services under the team’s ownership, which includes design, implementation, automated testing, deployment, and uptime of the services.

• Participate in building and supporting cloud based infrastructure services 

• Work alongside engineers, product managers and designers on the development of the services under the team's ownership.

• Building the technology the right way: for us, this means simple, well-tested systems that gradually grow over time, and that provide plenty of insight into production performance.

• Regular 1:1's with your manager, mentor and other teams across Shutterstock.

• Learning and living the company values.

Ideal candidate would have the following:

• Currently pursuing a  Bachelor’s, Master’s OR  PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, MIS or other  other technology related fields.

• Must be eligible to work in Ireland without company sponsorship, now or for the duration of the internship.

• Passionate about what you do and care deeply about the things you build.

• Able to clearly communicate with team members. 

• Natural curiosity for learning new technologies. 

This role is targeted at university students who are seeking a 6 month placement from Jan-Aug 2025 as part of their degree programme.

In addition ANY one of the following would be an added bonus:

• Cloud based infrastructure like AWS or GCP and container based deployments such as Docker and Kubernetes. 

• Python or Shell scripting

• Knowledge of AI, Machine Learning or Computer Vision techniques

• Understanding of Github Actions or Jenkins

• Knowledge of relational and non relational database technologies

• An understanding of continuous delivery pipelines

• Knowledge or skills in writing unit tests, integration tests and automated testing.
