Senior Product Manager (Data, Unstructured Data Management & RAG)
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager with expertise in Data Management and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to help drive our RAG-related product direction. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping the strategy, roadmap, and execution of key data-focused initiatives, driving innovation while balancing the needs of two distinct user personas: content managers and data professionals.

In this role, you will own the development and evolution of data-driven features, enabling our customers to extract value from both structured and unstructured data while leveraging the power of AI-driven content and insights.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Product Manager or Senior Product Manager,  familiar with data management, and a track record of driving data-heavy product features from concept to launch.
  • Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and a solid understanding of AI-driven search, content retrieval, and analytics throughout all phases of R&D.
  • Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or other data platform technologies, and how they integrate with product development.
  • Strong understanding of the needs of data professionals (e.g., data scientists, data engineers) and content managers, and the ability to create products that cater to both personas.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear and detailed product requirements and user stories, particularly for data-centric products.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with modern product management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Aha!, etc.
  • Experience using metrics and customer feedback to inform and iterate on product development decisions.

As a plus

  • Familiarity with AI/ML models, NLP, and machine learning pipelines.
  • Experience with large-scale data systems, particularly those that handle unstructured data and content analytics.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Be the internal and external advocate for data-centric initiatives, acting as the expert in unstructured data, RAG, and data management features.
  • Drive innovation around AI-driven content retrieval and unstructured data analytics to help customers extract actionable insights efficiently.

You will:

Product Features and Delivery

  • Own the data-centric features of the assigned team and be the go-to person for product-related activities, with a specific focus on Data Management and RAG applications.
  • Elicit and transform business requirements for data-driven initiatives (e.g., analytics, AI-based content insights) into detailed engineering specifications, ensuring clarity and alignment across teams.
  • Split product features into user stories that drive value for both content managers and data professionals, with an emphasis on advanced analytics and AI-driven retrieval capabilities.
  • Work closely with the design team to create UX and UI designs that focus on delivering user value.
  • Help create and review customer-facing guides, focusing on RAG workflows, AI-driven product features, and general new data management capabilities.
  • Define and track Product Metrics that provide insights into product usage and adoption, particularly for data management, content analytics, and RAG-based functionality.

Communication, Roadmap, and Planning

  • Create product updates that inform customers of newly released data management and AI-based features, ensuring timely communication and alignment with the overall platform strategy, acting as the primary owner of our RAG-related product features.
  • Work cross-functionally to communicate upcoming features to internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success).
  • Attend customer meetings, help troubleshoot product issues, and provide strategic input on how to achieve business goals with our unified platform, with a focus on data-related challenges and opportunities.
  • Develop and present product information that ensures internal alignment among stakeholders and outlines new data-related features, ensuring all departments have the necessary context to deliver a successful whole-product launch.
  • Work closely with leadership to develop the team’s roadmap, prioritizing data and AI-driven features that align with the unified platform vision.
  • Act as the primary educator on RAG and AI-related product features, ensuring peer PMs and teams understand the underlying technology and its impact on product innovation and strategy

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We prioritize job seekers as our customers, unlike bigger job sites, by charging a small fee to provide them with curated access to the best companies and up-to-date jobs. This focus allows us to deliver a more personalized and effective job search experience.
  • Salaries for the engineering jobs on our site range from $100K-$200K. On average, senior engineer positions on our EchoJobs are about $160K.
  • The EchoJobs positions have been sourced and vetted from the top companies to work for in the US as a software engineer, including LinkedIn and other reputable job sites. We also have syndicated jobs from companies that have just raised funding, as well as those that have great unique products and culture. From all of these sources, our founder, Morgan, has also resourced the company's authenticity in terms of their website, public appearance, and more.
  • Yes, our users asked us for just this, so now our search filters allow you to search for your top jobs via location, as well as by onsite, remote, or both. Approximately 30% of our jobs are remote, so you’ve got the best options for you!
  • We have not yet implemented this option, but are considering doing so in the future. For the moment, you would need to cancel your subscription, and resubscribe when you wanted to come back.
  • We add new jobs to EchoJobs every day! We scan our sources for the newest jobs, verify them, and post them to EchoJobs within minutes. We add about 2,000-3,000 new jobs for you each day!
  • From starting your job search to getting hired, the entire job search process can take us software engineers anywhere between 3-6 months. However, at EchoJobs, we’re striving to shorten this duration by finding the best, newest jobs for you, so you can do less job searching, and more applying.
  • We’d recommend checking EchoJobs daily, as we add new jobs to the site each day. Additionally, if you got a chance to read our previous email on “what makes EchoJobs different from any other job search tools,” we also recommended that you set a job alert based on your job filters, so if you get emails on those new jobs, you could be checking more than once per day.
  • If you decide to continue with us after the 1-month trial, we definitely recommend this, as we all know it usually takes 3-6 months to find a quality job as a software engineer these days. So to best support you, we just adjusted our membership options at EchoJobs to monthly, 3 months, or 12 months (this option is more for passive job seekers looking a little bit for the future if they want to come back to work or make a job switch potentially. This lets you see what’s out there in case an even better fit job becomes available.)
  • EchoJobs is truly the only job site of its kind. We want to be THE spot for you to find the best job for you, and haven’t encountered any other company doing this. Other job sites are in niches besides software engineering or focus on a small portion of engineering jobs (like a specific coding language). In the words of Morgan, our founder, “I think what makes EchoJobs different is the amount of jobs, frequency that we add new jobs (we add 2,000-3,000 new jobs daily!), and the powerful search engines to find exactly the job you want more easily and efficiently. We can provide you with the most jobs that are vetted by us, we’ll continually find more new jobs for you, and we make it easier for you to apply and get hired.
