OVERVIEW:
We’re looking for dynamic, creative, talented, inspirational and committed engineering design engineer to deliver an extraordinary pipeline of new products for the fastest-growing consumer product business in the world. The role will be responsible for new product design development over a range of different projects.
LOCATION: Shenzhen
Here are some of the EXCITING things you’ll get to do:
• CAD creation for both 2D & 3D
• Design Reviews
• Prototypes build and test
• Performance testing
• Communication between US/UK teams on project technical development and issues
• Project timeline tracking
• Reviewing costed bill of materials/tooling plans
• Creating and working with tolerance stacks
ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS:
• Mechanical or Product Design Engineering degree graduated
• 6+ years working experience in consumer product / small home appliance (Ovens, Coffee machines, Pressure Cookers, Air fryers, Boilers, Iron, Kettles, Grills or any motorized appliance)
• CAD: Creo– 2 years minimum working experience, within the last 3 years
• Problem solving/brainstorming
• Plastic injection molding experience with strong knowledge of Design for Manufacture and assembly
• Design for sheet metal/punching and metal forming experience
• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical fundamentals
• Focus on Quality by Design
• Design for sheet metal deep drawing experience
• Coatings experience
• Hands-on workshop / prototyping / testing experience
• Value engineering experience
• Failure Modes and Effect Analysis
• Electrical Safety: Experience with UL/CB testing requirements
• Accustomed to quick turnaround projects (<1year)
• Experience of taking products to mass production stage
• Can operate result focused, autonomously and disciplined
• Experienced with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Strong communication skills in English (Verbal and Written)
• Ability to work under pressure and work overtime if required at peak project times.
• Traveling to supplier factory / staying in factory is required.
