Overview: 

The Senior Manager, UX Design and Research will lead SharkNinja's user experience (UX) design and research efforts to create intuitive, customer-centric digital experiences. The Senior Manager, UX Design and Research will manage a team of UX designers and researchers, collaborating closely with product managers, developers, and marketing teams. The Senior Manager, UX Design and Research will be responsible for developing the overall UX strategy and ensuring that all digital interfaces meet SharkNinja’s high standards for usability, aesthetics, and customer satisfaction.  The Senior Manager will report into the Director, Digital Product and Design.

Key Responsibilities:

UX Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and lead the UX design strategy, aligning with SharkNinja’s business goals and customer needs across web and mobile platforms
  • Oversee the entire UX design process, from research and discovery to wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing 
  • Ensure consistency in UX design principles and methodologies across digital products, maintaining a cohesive user experience
  • Advocate for user-centered design within the organization, promoting the importance of UX research and usability in product development

User Research & Testing

  • Lead user research initiatives to understand customer behaviors, pain points, and motivations. Use insights to drive design decisions
  • Organize and conduct usability testing sessions, A/B testing, and focus groups to gather qualitative and quantitative feedback on digital products
  • Analyze research findings to identify patterns and trends, translating them into actionable design recommendations
  • Collaborate with the analytics team to evaluate how design changes impact key performance metrics such as conversion rates, user engagement, and retention

Team Management & Collaboration

  • Manage a team of UX designers and researchers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure their professional growth and success
  • Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and marketing teams to align UX initiatives with overall product and business goals
  • Coordinate with the development team to ensure that design elements are implemented accurately and efficiently

Design System Development

  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of SharkNinja’s design system to ensure consistency across digital touchpoints
  • Collaborate with UI designers to ensure that visual design aligns with SharkNinja’s brand standards and enhances the overall user experience
  • Ensure that all digital interfaces are optimized for responsiveness, accessibility, and performance across devices and platforms

Qualifications: 

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in UX design, with a focus on user research, digital interfaces, and interaction design, preferably in an e-commerce or consumer products environment
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring a team of designers and researchers

Skills & Competencies 

  • UX Expertise: Strong portfolio showcasing UX design and research experience across a variety of digital platforms
  • Research Skills: Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including usability testing, user interviews, and A/B testing
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, driving results through collaboration and innovation
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) and UX research platforms
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze research data and testing results, drawing actionable insights to inform design decisions
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex design ideas to stakeholders clearly and concisely

Location: Needham, MA (Hybrid: 3-4 days per week in office)
