Job Description
As a ServiceNow Front-End Developer/Engineer, you will be responsible for translating detailed UI/UX designs into high-quality, production-ready ServiceNow code. You will work closely with UI/UX Designers, Product Owners, and other developers to create engaging and intuitive ServiceNow Service Portal applications and widgets. You should have a solid background in JavaScript, React, and ServiceNow-specific technologies, with a focus on providing seamless user experiences.
You will be part of an Agile/Scrum team, collaborating remotely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions to our clients. Your ability to communicate directly with customers and understand their needs will be key to the success of your projects.
Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI’s potential impact on the function or industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- UI Development & Implementation: Translate UI/UX designs into responsive and interactive applications on the ServiceNow platform, specifically using Service Portal and ServiceNow Widgets.
- Widget Development: Build, customize, and maintain ServiceNow widgets using JavaScript, React, and ServiceNow scripting.
- Customer Interaction: Collaborate with clients to gather requirements, offer technical guidance, and ensure the final product meets their expectations.
- Technical Collaboration: Work closely with back-end developers to integrate front-end components with ServiceNow’s back-end functionality.
- Innovation & Problem Solving: Continuously explore new technologies, trends, and best practices to keep the front-end solutions cutting-edge and improve user experiences.
- Agile Methodology: Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives, to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
- Code Quality & Documentation: Write clean, maintainable code and maintain thorough documentation for future enhancements and support.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in front-end development, including work with ServiceNow Service Portal, Widgets, and JavaScript.
- ServiceNow Expertise: Hands-on experience working with ServiceNow Service Portal, widgets, and customizing user interfaces in the platform.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and modern frameworks like React.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and integrating them with ServiceNow widgets.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow scripting (Client Scripts, UI Scripts, etc.) and ServiceNow’s platform architecture.
- Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design to build user-centric interfaces.
- Agile Methodology: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with daily stand-ups, sprint cycles, and iterative delivery.
- Communication Skills: Ability to work with customers directly, interpret their needs, and translate those into technical solutions.
- Remote Team Experience: Comfortable working with a distributed, remote team across different time zones.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced React Knowledge: Familiarity with React hooks, state management, and other modern React features.
- ServiceNow Certifications: Certified Application Developer (CAD) or related certifications are a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools.
- UX/UI Collaboration: Prior experience working closely with UI/UX designers and translating their vision into functional, usable code.
- Experience with Mobile UI: Familiarity with ServiceNow's mobile capabilities and responsive designs for mobile-first users.
