Job Description

Smart Operations is an emerging technology business focused on Retail AI and IoT. We leverage machine learning, computer vision and sensor technology to algorithmically understand the state of the physical world.  There is a plethora of problems that customers are eagerly looking for us to solve and this is a great opportunity to learn and be associated with a growing product. 

What you get to do in this role:

This is an early career role for those who have demonstrated key skills and learnings as part of their Master’s thesis work from reputable institutions for higher learning. Work involves developing algorithms for multi-camera tracking and activity recognition in video feeds. The focus will be on translating research into practical algorithm development. The individual will eventually transition into the role of a senior engineer who can think and work as a software developer to solve customer problems involving newer domains and use-cases.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

• A Master’s Degree from top IITs with strong computer science foundations.
• Demonstrated experience in areas of multi-camera tracking algorithms, activity recognition algorithms, developing ML models.
• Experience in evaluation frameworks, metrics, and dataset preparation for the above areas of experience.
• Theoretically strong foundations in computer vision and transformer architectures.
• Software development skills in Python and/or C++.
• At least 1 year of industry experience in the above areas of work.
• At least one full research paper in a conference of repute such as ICML/CVPR/NeuralPS.
• Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI’s potential impact on the function or industry.
