We are currently searching for a Kafka Developer:
The Challenge (Responsibilities)
- Design and enable messaging and streaming solutions based on Apache Kafka and enterprise distributions like Confluent.
- Act as the technical reference for the implementation of asynchronous and event-driven integration patterns.
- Ensure that event flows between producers and consumers are reliable, scalable, and consistent with modern architecture practices.
- Define the strategy for topics, partitions, keys, retention, delivery semantics, and data contracts to properly support business and engineering needs.
- Contribute to the creation of internal frameworks or libraries to publish and consume events safely and consistently, avoiding duplicate implementations and reducing common errors (message loss, uncontrolled re-processing, incorrect ordering).
- Collaborate closely with architects and data teams to implement schema governance, version compatibility, and good logical observability practices (e.g., lag and throughput metrics at the consumer group level).
- Advise on resilience strategies (retries, DLQs, backpressure), idempotence, and design for replays in complex systems to ensure event-driven architecture is maintainable over time.
- Enable the organization to use Kafka as an integration backbone, minimizing technical risks and maximizing event traceability and consistency.
Your Profile (Requirements)
- Proven experience with Confluent Kafka, Schema Registry, and Avro/Protobuf/JSON Schema serialization.
- Strong proficiency in Java (Spring Kafka) and consumption patterns (at-least-once/exactly-once).
- Hands-on experience using Kafka Connect, managing event formats, headers, and correlative tracing.
- Proficiency using Git/Bitbucket, Jira, and documentation tools like Confluence.
- High-Performance Mindset: Resilience, emotional intelligence, and a focus on agile delivery.
- Technologist DNA: A deep understanding of the difference between "coding" and "engineering."
