What are we looking for?

SentinelOne is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for the UI Services and Infra team, a group of engineers who design and build tools and solutions that will give our engineers greater control over internal systems while improving their ability to deliver software sustainably, and quickly. This team will be tackling greenfield projects while working to improve the long-term sustainability of the SentinelOne engineering model. Software Engineers at SentinelOne work in a highly collaborative environment, one size does not fit all so please bring your bag of tricks and ability to teach them to others.

What will you do? 

  • Planning and Leading complex technical projects
  • Working on systems that allow our engineers to deliver features for SentinelOne safely, quickly, and reliably
  • Acting as an expert and enabler for Engineering teams to move Cloud-native model
  • Owning key metrics around performance, throughput, and failure rates
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and gather feedback to ensure the tools/services meet their requirements and provide an intuitive user experience.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the services/tools, including developer guides, best practices, and API references.
  • Contribute to shared components used across 20+ teams
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing existing services/tools related to the UI Platform and implement solutions to address pain points and improve overall efficiency.
  • Ensure applications are fast, responsive, and scalable by optimizing performance and addressing bottlenecks.

  • Experience working with REST APIs and GraphQL.
  • Understanding of the principles of building reusable UI components.
  • You have strong software engineering skills, and love solving large complex problems - you are ready to research, document, troubleshoot, and diagnose problems.
  • Passion for building tools that accelerate processes and improve engineering effectiveness
  • 5+ years in software engineering with technical lead experience
  • 2+ years of experience with backend development - NodeJS, Python, or Go
  • 2+ years of experience working with frontend development, especially React or NextJS
  • Understanding of programming principles like SOLID, DRY, and various design patterns
  • Familiarity with build and development tools (ie, Webpack, Babel, Rollup, ESBuild).
  • Knowledge of code quality tools (ie, ESLint, Prettier).
  • Experience with monorepos and tools around it (ie, Nx, npm / yarn workspaces, etc).
  • Skills in identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks.
  • Understanding of browser rendering and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment practices and tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)

It’s a plus if you have experience with:

  • Advanced state management libraries like Recoil
  • Performance optimization techniques for web applications.
  • OWASP: Best practices to improve software security
  • PostgreSQL, Redis: For robust and efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Docker, Helm, Kubernetes: For containerization and orchestration, ensuring scalable and manageable deployments.
  • AWS, GCP: Leveraging cloud services for scalable and reliable infrastructure.
  • Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD: For continuous integration and deployment, facilitating rapid and reliable delivery of features.
