The Engineering Manager will be responsible for the technical product throughout product and design life cycle.

General Responsibilities
• Manages the development of our products for new and existing customers
• Continuous coaching and development of team
• Administrates the efficient and effective planning and organization of the activities to timely deliver product or design with highest quality
• Translate customer requirements to the product test strategy and oversee design and product validation programs
• Manages involvement in projects and problem solving outside of own direct area
• Identifies the next generation of growth opportunities and support the smooth integration of new product developments and plan the roll-out of new technology
• Provide continuous coaching and development of team

Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members
• Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

We are looking for a leader and hands-on high-tech manufacturing expert to drive our automation strategy in support of product manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and inspiring his or her team to achieve their performance metrics. He or She will be leading a team of electrical, controls and software engineers that design the automated manufacturing machinery that produce Sensata’s products.

You will work closely with a cross-functional team, bringing new products from Engineering Validation through General Availability launch, and ensure that manufacturing is sustained throughout product production. You will manage a team of skilled engineers to guide problem-solving on the manufacturing line, develop new ones, track and improve key manufacturing performance metrics, manage the expansion of line capacity, and design and implement improvements.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ Years of Experience managing engineering teams with hands-on experience in high-tech manufacturing
  • 10+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment working with; mechanical, electrical, and process controls teams. The ideal candidate will possess experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment where Electronics Assemblies were manufactured.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and manage various priorities and timelines and to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
  • Strong hands-on attitude and ability to spend significant time on the factory floor, being involved at the detail level.
  • Strong industrial SW automation background, factory floor SW (PLCs, MES, SCADA, Data Collection/Analysis SW)
  • Effective communicator must be comfortable communicating to cross-functional teams and executive management.
  • Ability to influence others and work within cross-functional teams to make critical decisions
  • Partner closely with Mechanization teams globally, product, process development teams and Strategic Partners to engage in ideation and co-creation sessions
  • Ensure the product strategy and goals are in alignment with various internal & external stakeholder teams
  • Identifies, evaluates, and leverages emerging technologies including digital transformation and innovative approaches, frameworks, and technologies where applicable.
  • Administrates the efficient and effective planning and organization of the activities to timely deliver product or design with highest quality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Proficient in estimating material and labor costs and schedule for electrical and software designs for automated industrial machinery.
  • Proficient in managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Proficient in all IEC 61131-3 programming languages
  • Proficient in design and programming of industrial control systems
  • Proficient in electrical schematic design using SolidWorks Electrical
  • Experience with automated optical inspection systems preferred
  • Experience with robots and/or motion control in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience in PC-based control system design using C++ or C# programming languages and Microsoft Visual Studio programming environment a plus

EDUCATION

Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer science, or elated engineering fields. Master’s degree highly desired.
