Job Description

We are looking for a Product Safety Test Engineer for electronic devices used for Metering, Protection & Substation Automation (MPSA) in low voltage, medium voltage, and high voltage electricity grids. With the ongoing energy transition and digitalization, electronic devices play an increasing crucial role in the energy supply chain.

Team and location

The laboratory is based in Arnhem, The Netherlands, and operates according to high quality standards. For type testing and certification of smart electrical energy meters, measuring relays and protection equipment, and substation automation and control devices. The test activities are performed according to international standards. The laboratory is one of the recognized notified bodies for the European Measuring Instrument Directive MID 2014/32/EU.

Job description

Your daily work includes, but is no limited to, the following activities:

• Carrying out product safety tests and assessment for new products.
• Checking and interpreting measurement data and test results and processing them in test reports.
• Reviewing test results with customers.
• Drawing up test programs and preliminary calculations as input for quotations.
• Keeping your own knowledge up to date about regulations and applicable standards.
• Actively work on improvements together with the team.

Qualifications

What is we looking for?

• ​Work experience and/or background in electrical engineering, electronics, measurement, and control technology, or related.
• Knowledge of basic or group product safety standards (e.g., IEC 60664-1, IEC 60364, IEC 61010-1, EC 62477-1) and/or product safety standards IEC 62052-31 or IEC 60255-27.
• Able to read diagrams and schematics of electronic circuits.
• Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbally), mastery of the Dutch language is an advantage.
• Team working and driven personality.
• Confident handling of Microsoft Office 356, and Teams.

Experience: 3-5 years
