About the role

As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will help development teams adopt modern CI/CD practices while integrating security throughout the software development lifecycle. A significant part of the role consists of supporting development teams in their daily usage of CI/CD platforms, developer tooling and security services.

You will investigate incidents, answer service requests, help resolve pipeline issues and continuously identify opportunities for automation and improvement. You will work closely with developers, platform engineers and security specialists to improve software delivery processes, automate repetitive tasks, enhance security controls and support teams using GitHub and Azure DevOps.

This is an ideal role for someone at the start of their DevOps, DevSecOps or application security career who wants to develop expertise in both software delivery and security.

Key responsibilities

CI/CD & Developer Platform

· Support and improve CI/CD pipelines in GitHub and Azure DevOps.

· Help development teams automate build, test and deployment processes.

· Assist in maintaining reusable pipeline templates and development standards.

· Troubleshoot pipeline and deployment issues together with development teams.

· Contribute to improving developer experience through automation and self-service capabilities.

· Support integrations between development, deployment and security tooling.

· Help document best practices and onboarding materials for engineering teams.

DevSecOps & Security

· Assist in integrating security controls into development workflows.

· Support the rollout and adoption of tools such as Aikido, SonarQube and related security platforms.

· Help developers understand and remediate security findings.

· Participate in vulnerability management and remediation follow-up.

· Promote secure coding and DevSecOps best practices.

· Assist with security reviews of CI/CD pipelines and software delivery processes.

· Contribute to improving visibility into security and quality metrics across development teams.

Collaboration & Learning

· Work closely with developers, platform engineers, architects and security experts.

· Participate in agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.

· Share knowledge and support teams during onboarding and workshops.

· Stay up to date with emerging DevOps, DevSecOps, AI-assisted development and security trends.

Your profile

Experience & skills

· Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cyber Security or equivalent experience.

· 0–3 years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, Software Development, Security or a related field.

· Basic knowledge of software development practices and version control.

· Familiarity with Git, GitHub or Azure DevOps.

· Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and software delivery pipelines.

· Interest in automation, platform engineering and developer productivity.

· Interest in application security and secure software development.

· Familiarity with one or more programming or scripting languages such as C#, JavaScript / TypeScript, Python, PowerShell or Bash.

Nice to have

· Experience with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps Pipelines.

· Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and secure coding principles.

· Experience with code quality or security scanning tools.

· Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure.

· Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts.

· Experience using AI-powered developer tools such as GitHub Copilot.

Soft skills

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Curious and eager to learn new technologies.

· Good communication and collaboration skills.

· Able to explain technical concepts to developers and stakeholders.

· Structured, organised and documentation-oriented.

· Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
