As a Sales Engineer, a typical day might include the following:
- Manage and develop relationships with SEL customers.
- Understand the true requirements and objectives of customers. Determine, communicate and deliver the optimal SEL solution that best meets their needs.
- Building and maintain knowledge of all SEL products and teaching customers SEL technology and innovation.
- Develop, maintain and deliver upon quarterly orders forecasts and sales goals.
- Collect, analyze and report industry, competitor and customer trends to the greater SEL organization.
- Work collaboratively to understand and drive the resolution of customer feedback and product issues.
- Liaise between customers, contracts & risk, and accounts receivable to facilitate commercial relationships.
- Utilize business tools to maintain customer relationship information, opportunity tracking and sales activities.
This job might be for you if possess the following:
- A B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, a related engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in technical sales
- 2 or more years of experience in an electrical engineering or technical sales environment
- Demonstrated success working in a customer facing role
- Ability to travel 25-30% of the time
- Effective and engaging communication skills
- Ability to skillfully manage price and commercial negotiations with the support and guidance of senior team members
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Utility, industrial, or manufacturing industry experience
- Experience with electrical relay panels or enclosures
- Leadership experience
- Experience using SEL products

Pay Range Data
$80,000 - $120,000 per year. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
