Lead Software Engineer

As a Lead Software Engineer a typical day might include the following:  

• Develop, test, and maintain software applications in a Linux environment.
• Write and maintain efficient Linux shell scripts to automate tasks and improve system performance.
• Design, develop, and manage databases to support software applications.
• Utilize web frameworks to create and maintain dynamic web applications.
• Collaborate with engineers in the electrical power field to design and implement innovative solutions that enhance system performance and reliability.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software.
• Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code in various programming languages, including C, Python, and Go.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

This job might be for you if: 

• You have a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• You have experience in full-stack development, modern CI/CD pipelines & with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is advantageous.
• You have familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Linux programming.
• You have proven experience with Linux shell scripting.
• You have strong experience in database design, development, and management (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• You have proficiency in web development using popular web frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, or similar).
• You have extensive knowledge of programming languages including C, C++, Python, and Go.
• You have containerization Experience: Proven experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for developing, deploying, and managing applications in containerized environments.
• You have in-depth understanding of Linux operating systems and kernel development.
• You have a solid understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
• You have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex software issues.
• You have familiarity with DevOps practices and tools is a plus.

Pay Range Data:

We anticipate filling this position as a Lead Software Engineer $80,000 - $ 120,000. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
