Associate Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer, a typical day might include the following:
1. Perform the following mechanical engineering functions under the direction of Mechanical Engineers:
-- Assembly design
-- Plastic and metal part design
-- Tolerance studies
-- Design for manufacturability/assembly

-- Component selection and specification
-- Thermal analysis and design
-- Mechanical shock and vibration analysis.
2. Qualify and monitor component and custom part vendors.

3. Generate and maintain accurate bills of materials. Provide accurate labor and material estimates under supervision.

4. Review and support documentation, mechanical designs, and manufacturing process design.

5. Write test plans, conduct design tests, and review results.

6. Maintain current and accurate project notebooks.

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
Education/experience in the following areas:
-- heat transfer
-- computer-aided design
-- materials and mechanics
-- part and assembly design
Problem solving skills
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

Preferred Qualifications
Education/experience in the following areas:
-- electromechanical packaging design
-- electronic manufacturing techniques
-- SolidWorks experience
-- Environmental testing experience

Pay Range Data

We anticipate filling this position as a Mechanical Engineer $69,100 -$108,100. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
