Fullstack Software Engineer (PHP)

The Role:

As a Software Developer, you will be part of a supportive team in an agile, continuous delivery organization. You will collaborate with designers and engineers to help deliver product capabilities and features for our innovative cloud-based mobile product. 

Sauce Labs is seeking a team player with ownership qualities in a strategic component. This could be you if you possess solid hands-on PHP experience and are comfortable developing in multiple languages, delivering features that span both front and back end. As a crucial member of our team, you will collaborate directly with business and engineering leadership at Sauce Labs, as well as with engineers from other leading tech companies.

Responsibilities 

• Be a team player, eager to explore the unknown and solve challenges.
• You'll be working with development and product management teams to help define user story acceptance criteria, break down complex stories into tasks, estimates, plan, and then deliver
• Assist in the technical design process by analyzing technical application requirements
• Collaborating within an agile development team, developing new features of our product with quality and efficiency
• Design, build, maintain, and review code for high-traffic, scalable systems
• Take full responsibility for your deliverables, including creating technical specifications, writing clear and extensible code, and preparing runbooks and post-release metrics
• Engaging with architects, UX, and Ops while taking part in planning, design, and review meetings
• Collaborating with cross-functional team members on every aspect of development and process
• Providing end-user support
• Other duties as assigned by the company’s needs

Who we are looking for:

• Creative problem solver with a willingness to learn and grow.
• Experienced in PHP (7.x +) development, focusing on complex integration APIs, including user management and billing APIs.
• Understanding design patterns and OOP principles
• Proficient in working with AWS/GCP environment
• Comfortable with Linux command tools and Apache HTTP Server
• Possessing Bash, Python, or another scripting language is a valuable experience.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions and/or GitLab CI.
• You are self-motivated and take ownership of your work, both independently and collaboratively
• Experience in web development using Typescript and React/Angular is an asset.

Bonus points:

• Nice to have some mobile development experience.

We are a hybrid workplace that recognizes the importance of flexibility while valuing in-person collaboration and relationship building. As a result, Saucers located near an office location must be able and willing to come into the office. Those hired remotely must be able and willing to travel to an office as required by the specific role.
