Santander Consumer Finance UK (SCUK) is based in Redhill, Surrey and provides motor finance to a network of car dealerships throughout the United Kingdom. We are currently recruiting for a Communications Specialist to support our busy Communications team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract, working at least 3 days a week in the Redhill office.
In this role you will support and work alongside the PR & Communications Manager and the Events & Communications Specialist with managing and improving all SCUK’s communications flows, within and outside of the company. You will implement the corporate communication strategy, ensuring that information is consistent, clear and effective and you will oversee content creation, support with media relations and develop external/internal communication campaigns.
Responsibilities will include:
- External Communications - Under guidance, create and deliver external communication campaigns via our external communication channels. This includes managing creative work through our marketing agencies from briefing to delivery, supporting with LinkedIn content creation and delivery and MI. Send out Dealer Communications via email, ensure the communication has the relevant approvals, content has been fact checked, and key stakeholders informed of the communication prior to distribution
- Website Content Management - Draft copy requests in correct tone of voice, obtain approvals, designing page layouts or sourcing new imagery if required. Responsible for the website content review to ensure the content remains up to date and relevant
- Internal Communications - Supporting SCUK internal teams and Executive Committee with internal communications campaigns executed via email and/or the SCUK intranet. Support with maintenance and management of the SCUK intranet (Sharepoint). Send out regular company newsletters via the automated email platform. Send out Sales Team updates via email to keep them informed of key business changes ensuring relevant approvals have been gained and key stakeholders informed
- Point of Sale Management – Supporting with managing SCUK’s point of sale stock and processing sales team orders. Manage the POS website and support with any troubleshooting or order queries
- Event Management – Supporting with event management which includes conferences, hospitality and large meetings. Providing support and cover during busy periods and periods of absence
- Compliance - Ensure all activity, including personal data usage, advertising, and communication content and events are compliant from a legal, regulatory and business perspective, and with specific focus on promoting good customer outcomes
- Risk – Dealing with and escalating identified risks in relation to SCUK risk policies and/or legislative and regulatory guidelines in accordance with the Santander UK group risk framework. Specific care and attention around protecting company image and managing reputational risk
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Significant marketing communications experience
- Previous working knowledge of using Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience writing creative briefs and press releases
- Sound commercial acumen, with experience of being able to quickly understand briefs to develop communication documents for all media platforms
- A good understanding of the general market sector, and exhibits sound business acumen, has excellent interpersonal skills and is confident when dealing with Board-level management
- The ability to produce sound working documentation and presentations, including business case proposals, briefs and presentations
- The ability to think creatively and innovate through new ideas
- An appreciation of legal, regulatory & compliance issues relating to product development/use of customer data and familiar with the FCA’s principles of business
- Worked previously within motor related financial services (desirable - not essential)
- Experience working within the British Press & Media (desirable - not essential)
