Main Responsibilities:

The HSE Intern will assist the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) department in maintaining safe and efficient operations. The role provides hands-on experience in wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) processes, safety improvement initiatives, and HSE documentation. The intern will also support environmental sustainability reporting for corporate oversight

The Intern will gain exposure to the following functional areas:

  • Operation of WWTP: Hands-on learning of WWTP processes, troubleshooting, and daily operations.

  • HSE Fieldwork: Exposure to both field safety and process safety in an operational environment.

  • HSE Documentation: Understanding and contributing to critical HSE documentation processes.

  • Corporate Reporting: Gaining experience in environmental and sustainability reporting, focusing on waste, energy, water, and cooling.

  • Training and Programs: Involvement in the development and implementation of in-house HSE training.

  • Support the operations and troubleshooting of the WWTP.

  • Assist in projects related to WWTP and safety improvements.

  • Prepare reports on waste, energy, water, and cooling for corporate submission.

  • Assist in the maintenance and updating of HSE documentation.

  • Support field safety and process safety initiatives.

  • Assist in organizing and conducting in-house HSE training programs.

Deliverables

  • Analytical Results Tracking: Record and analyze data from WWTP sampling and tests to ensure compliance.

  • Troubleshooting Report: Document troubleshooting efforts and operational improvements at the WWTP.

  • Monthly Reporting: Prepare accurate reports on waste, energy, water, and cooling for submission to corporate HSE.

  • Safety Improvement Project: Contribute to at least one HSE project, such as a safety improvement initiative, with documented findings and recommendations.

  • HSE Documentation Updates: Ensure all HSE documents are current and compliant with regulations, preparing them for audits or inspections.

  • Training Support: Assist in organizing and executing HSE training sessions for staff, ensuring proper documentation of attendance and training materials.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering/Manufacturing/Pharmaceutical or similar courses.

  • Competencies Intern will learn during Internship Program:

  • Understanding of pharmaceutical industry processes and equipment, particularly in WWTP. Knowledge of HSE department operations, including field safety and process safety. Project management skills and understanding of project execution workflows.
