VP / Head of Product

At Sano, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and success of our platform. 

As VP / Head of Product, you will lead the product team in shaping and executing our product strategy, focusing on both our research-participant facing product and our clinical research program staff facing product. This role is suited for both experienced VPs looking to apply their seasoned skills in a dynamic environment and ambitious product leaders eager to step into a more strategic position.

You will report to the CEO and co-founder and be part of the executive team, contributing directly to the company’s strategic directions and decision-making processes.

📬 Responsibilities:

Product Strategy and Planning:

• Develop and communicate a clear product vision and roadmap aligned with the company's overall strategy
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, genetic testing, and clinical operations, to define and prioritize product features and improvements.
• Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to align product strategy with business objectives.
• Lead customer calls, and perform market research to identify user needs, pain points, and opportunities for our product.

Product Development and Execution:

• Lead the product team in executing the product roadmap, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of features and enhancements.
• Work with product, design, and engineering to evolve our ways of working as we grow, and bring best-in-class processes for product development.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate product performance, gather feedback from users, and iterate on the product based on user insights and market trends.

Team Leadership and Development:

• Build and lead a high-performing product team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive individual and team growth.
• Foster a team culture that values creativity, transparency, problem solving, customer empathy, ambition, and continuous learning.
• Evolve the product team organisational structure as needed, and plan proactively for future hiring needs.

User Experience and Design:

• We place a premium on high-quality design, and you will be expected to champion this and take a user-centric approach to product development, ensuring that our platform provides an intuitive and seamless experience for our customers and end-users.
• Collaborate with design and UX teams to create compelling and visually appealing interfaces that:
• make clinical research teams’ job of creating and running precision medicine studies easy and enjoyable
• gives participants access to transformative research opportunities, and make them more accessible and user-friendly to take part

Competitive Analysis and Market Trends:

• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities and potential threats.
• Conduct regular market and competitor analysis to ensure that our product remains leading in the precision medicine research space.

💫 Required skills and expertise

• Ability to attract and retain talented product people to work on your team.
• Proven experience in a product leadership role.
• Past experience in healthcare/life sciences, clinical research and/or genomics is a strong plus
• Strong communication skills with technical, commercial, scientific and operational audiences, and past track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
• Track record of successfully developing and launching complex digital products or platforms.
