Role and Responsibilities

• Utilize complex computer engineering principles, coupled with his strong background in computer engineering to research, design, develop, and test computer or computer-related equipment for use in the semiconductor industry. Apply knowledge in digital systems design, computer architecture and circuit chip design to deliver high quality custom macros and/or custom cells that meet stated requirements. Perform transistor-level design, schematic entry, Boolean equivalence, layout interaction, post-layout spice analysis, timing and margins characterization, EM and IR analysis. Identify hardware requirements through an objective index. Model hardware requirements, identify required functions, and use them as standards for architecture development and design. Develop semi-automated clocking solutions that meet the required physical and electrical requirements for our IP blocks. Assist in the design and signoff of testchips in advanced process nodes. Perform architectural design by establishing an operation scenario and identifying the optimal architecture to support the design. Participate in designing functions, which are defined in architecture. Verify architecture design by building a virtual verification environment, and write detailed functional specifications that document the hardware development process and support hardware introduction, ultimately producing a technical document related to digital IP and circuit design.

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field and 12 months of experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation.
• Requires 12 months of experience involving the following:
  1.            ASIC/SOC design/development at sub-system or chip level;
  2.            Design closure (DRC/LVS/ EMIR)
  3.            Verification of unit-level blocks or full chip; and
  4.            Scripting and automation skills including Perl, and Ruby.

Total Rewards

At Samsung – SARC/ACL, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $145,080.00 and $165,080.00 per year. Your actual base pay will depend on variables that may include your education skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.
