Machine learning lies in the core of the advertising industry. This is no exception to Samsung Ads. The Platform Intelligence (PI) team at Samsung Ads is actively exploring the latest deep learning and generative AI techniques to improve our existing systems and products and create new revenue streams. We aim to represent Samsung's leadership in large-scale machine learning products by collaborating with the best and brightest and building a collaborative environment between industry and academia. As a deep learning / generative AI intern, you will have access to unique Samsung proprietary data to develop and deploy a broad spectrum of large-scale machine learning products with real-world impact. You will build Generative AI applications for the Ad domain to enhance user experiences and create new business opportunities. You will work closely with and be supported by a talented engineering team and top-notch researchers to work on exciting machine learning projects and state-of-the-art technologies. Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Explore cutting-edge machine learning technologies for our products

• Design and develop deep learning algorithms and models for real-world products

• Build next-generation Generative AI-based applications to meet user requirements and create great user experiences with AI in Samsung Ads

• Closely work with the machine learning engineering team to deploy new models to generate real-world impact

• Create quick prototypes and proof-of-concepts for future product features

• Design experiments, perform evaluations, and apply enhancements to our products

• Publish research results in top venues and file patents

Experience Requirements:

• PhD students in Computer Science or relevant fields

• Solid theoretical background in machine learning and/or data mining

• Hands-on experience with machine and deep learning algorithms and models

• Thorough understanding of state-of-the-art LLM/Diffusion models

• Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and machine learning libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, Keras, etc.)

• Strong programming skills with Python

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Publications in relevant top venues (e.g., KDD, NIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, IJCAI, ICDM, ACL, etc.)

Preferred Experience Requirements:

• Basic knowledge about big data tools and data pipelines

Skills and Qualifications

The salary range for this role, for candidates based in California, is expected to be between $42/Hour and $62/hour.  Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
