Position Summary

The HR Director is a member of the Executive Team reporting to the President of Samsung Electronics Philippines (SEPCO). Incumbent is expected to provide strategic HR Leadership; develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives and enhance company's competitiveness by designing an organization optimized for its business strategy.

The HR Director is expected to partner with the senior leadership team to conceptualize, design and influence strategic and tactical People Agenda to achieve the overall organizational performance goals.

As a leader to the People Function, incumbent will lead the full spectrum of HR; talent acquisition, talent management, organizational design, rewards, engagement and be culture champion to drive positive employee experience in talent lifecycle journey with the Company. Incumbent will also be leading a team and is expected to provide both strategic and operational direction to execute the day-to-day HR programs and initiatives effectively.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic HR Leadership; develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Enhance company's competitiveness by co-piloting with the business to design an organization optimized for its strategy.
  • Provide active leadership to ensure there are effective talent management, organisational development, rewards and recognition, performance management, engagement, learning and development initiatives.
  • Drive HR process innovations and implement of local HR initiatives.  Lead and oversee the full spectrum People Programs in Samsung Electronics Philippines
  • Enhance organisational effectiveness through integrated people management tools and processes.
  • Work in partnership with business leaders by aligning business issues with integrated HR interventions.
  • Direct promotion/appointment/nurturing of managers based on the organization operation model and lead retention activities of core staff.
  • Direct operation of HR policies (evaluation/promotion/reward & discipline) complying with the business environment and direct the management of people performance across the organization.
  • Navigate effectively with agility and sensitivity, in the face of changing and ambiguous contexts, through influence, proper stakeholder management and achieving results through others.
  • SEPCO expects that its staff will at all times comply with the law in Philippines in the conduct of their duties, including all applicable competition and consumer law.  This involves:
  • Performing all duties in a lawful manner;
  • Where appropriate, satisfactorily completing relevant face to face and online competition and consumer law compliance training; and
  • Reporting and escalating compliance concerns, issues and failures in accordance with SEPCO's policies,
  • Other additional duties and responsibilities directed by management

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and / or Human Resource Management / Psychology or other related studies
    • Minimum of 15 + years of HR experience and has broad HR functional knowledge and expertise with in-depth practical knowledge of best practise HR practices and principles.
    • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in HR leadership roles preferably in multi-national organizations or similar fast-moving and dynamic industries in Philippines
    • Key HR experience in both operational and strategic roles and experience covering all HR related activities (Talent Acquisition, Employer Branding, L&D, Rewards/Compensation & Benefits, HR Communications, Employee Engagement, Industrial relations, Payroll, etc.).
    • Strong working knowledge of employment laws, compliance requirements & HR priorities specific to Philippines.
    • Have proven track record in collaborating with senior leaders with the ability to use insight of the organisation’s internal and the external business environment to improve the human resource outcomes that affect business unit performance
    • Demonstrated ability to build, develop, lead and engage strong HR teams
    • Ability to participate in in new or innovative methods/approaches for HR to support business strategies/solutions
    • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of solutions, conclusions and problem solving.
    • Ability to participate and facilitate core talent management processes.
    • Has outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
    • Role is based in McKinley Hill, Taguig City, on a full on-site work arrangement
