About the role:

We are a team dedicated to supporting the employee and delivering a positive and seamless experience that supports the whole employee lifecycle. As Senior Manager of people Technology, you will be a key member of the People Operations team as we build and scale our function to the next level. You will lead the People Technology team to help implement and execute our people processes, systems, policies, and programs.

This role is open to candidates residing in Canada and the US EXCEPT in the San Francisco Bay Area (125 mi. radius from 1 De Haro St, San Francisco) and NYC Metro Area (50 mi. radius from 131 W 55th St, New York).

In this role, you will: 

  • Oversee the implementation of HR technology based on business requirements. Identify appropriate revisions to policies and procedures, analyze proposed changes from HR and non-HR groups, and provide appropriate guidance to management.
  • Manage sprint prioritization and capacity for the People Technology team. Communicate system implementation development and progress with project timelines, informing stakeholders of next steps and responsibilities, lead meetings, and ensure all follow-up is completed. Provide transparent and timely reporting and communications to all stakeholders.
  • Manage and escalate People Technology project risks and issues as needed. Establish success metrics, KPIs, and ensure project performance is tracked and measured.
  • Facilitate discussions across with People Org stakeholders, People Leaders, and SME Program owners. Facilitate groups in defining business and system requirements and alternate options for HRIS.
  • Collaborate with team SMEs and establish technology roadmaps supporting prioritized HR programs. Assist in technology prioritization for key stakeholder groups.
  • Define, evaluate, and configure HR systems/tools together with People Org teams and non-People Org teams to ensure efficiency in processes and data integrity across all People systems.
  • Continually seek and investigate ways to improve existing processes and fix pain points through appropriate configuration of systems.
  • Manage HRIS system compliance, audits, and security access.
  • Use data to identify improvements and risk reduction opportunities. Continuously backlog improvements for prioritization.
  • Be a present and highly engaged mentor for team members to up-level Workday configuration and operational experience.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 8+ years experience in HR Technology for fast-growing, global companies.
  • 4+ years as a project/functional lead or direct people manager.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Deep understanding of Workday modules: HCM, Benefits, Advanced Compensation. Experience in business process, security, and organization configuration.
  • Experience troubleshooting inbound and outbound Workday integrations to Applicant Tracking Systems, Benefits providers, and other third-party vendors for account provisioning and access.
  • System implementation project management experience, defining project plans, test plans, communication plans, and cutover plans.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, HR processes, and compliance. 
  • Experience in HR Operations function. Hands-on experience troubleshooting HR Operations processes. 
  • Experience effectively communicating with team members instructions, resolving issues, and providing feedback as project lead or people manager.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and prioritization.
  • Highly inclusive leadership style to coach and mentor junior members of the team, as well as build strong relationships with HR leadership and other key stakeholders.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience configuring Time & Absence, Payroll, Recruiting, and Talent & Performance processes.
  • Experience with Jira, Zendesk, and project management software.
  • People Management experience.

Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles.  For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually. 

We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
