The Components Enablement team plays a pivotal role in Salesforce’s mission to deliver high-quality, high-performance web components that power the entire platform. The team is responsible for driving the quality, performance, and developer experience (DX) of Salesforce components and impacts thousands of developers and millions of users, ensuring that every feature built on Salesforce's web components is fast, secure, and developer friendly.

As the Engineering Manager of this team, you will help drive our mission and establish the benchmarks for technical excellence and operational effectiveness on the team. This position is instrumental in shaping the future of UI development on Salesforce's platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver High-Quality Components: Ensure your team delivers reliable, high-performance web components that scale across Salesforce’s platform.

  • Enhance Component Performance: Drive improvements in the performance, scalability, and stability of Base Components

  • Optimize Development Processes: Streamline the team’s development lifecycle to maximize efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

  • Lead and Develop a High-Impact Team: Mentor and grow a high-performing management team, fostering leadership and technical excellence across the organization.

  • Shape the Product Roadmap: Partner with product management to define the long-term vision for Components Enablement, aligning with business goals.

  • Cultivate Innovation: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging engineers to innovate and drive impactful change.

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Engage with customers and partners to address challenges, improve the developer experience, and ensure best practices.

  • Lead Strategic Rollouts: Oversee the rollout and adoption of LWC Base Components across Salesforce, ensuring integration and value.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Experience leading and managing high-performing engineering teams, with a track record of delivering scalable, high-quality software on time.

  • Strong management experience, leading teams that developed modern web applications (e.g., React, Angular, Web Components).

  • Experience with software architecture, governance, and CI/CD integration, along with a solid understanding of SDLC best practices.

  • Experience in monitoring, improving, and optimizing component performance, scalability, and reliability, especially within large-scale platforms.

  • Good working experience in an Agile/Scrum environment & enterprise software environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to partner with product management and other stakeholders to define long-term strategies and influence product roadmaps.

  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical topics to diverse stakeholders, both internal and external, with a focus on collaboration and alignment.

  • Proven record of developing and mentoring, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders to address challenges and drive adoption of technical solutions.

  • Strong understanding of modern web development technologies, frameworks, and tools.

DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in open-source communities or leading open-source projects.

  • Experience developing client-side applications with frameworks like React, Angular, or Ember.

  • Experience in leading teams that delivered enterprise SaaS solutions. Familiarity with Salesforce development and its ecosystem.

  • Familiarity with Web Standards such as W3C and TC39 Involvement in long-term UI/UX planning within a large organization.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in process development.

  • Knowledge of Continuous Development and Continuous Integration (CI) practices.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
