About Salesforce

We’re Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too — driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good – you’ve come to the right place.

Global Procurement and Sourcing (GPS) is part of the CFO’s organization.  Our team touches everyone at Salesforce that interacts with a supplier, makes a purchase, engages a contractor or supports delivery of Salesforce solutions.  We use our platform to drive efficiency and standardization in our processes.

Role Description:

We are looking for a Project Manager to lead a wide variety of initiatives that will deliver cost savings and improve or transform our procurement processes and tools.  This is a hands-on role, requiring you to both manage projects, as well as complete some of the deliverables.  You will closely partner within the GPS team, as well as various business functions and Business Technology (BT) to build alignment on scope and approach, business requirements, timelines and optimized solutions.

Your Impact:

Success will be measured by your ability to build and implement a project plan, identify and manage risks, monitor and report progress.  Communication, engagement and alignment with your partners are key.  Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Own all aspects of a project, including project and resource planning, scope definition, task planning, documentation, risk management and progress reporting.

  • Lead and empower project teams to complete results within agreed timing.

  • Communicate project strategy, updates and communication of risks/issues to multiple levels of management, including executive leadership teams across the organization.

  • Support the Strategic Sourcing team in driving the sourcing strategy for key supplier deals, including supplier coordination and ensuring the timely procurement of goods and services.

  • Partner with Organizational Change to drive adoption and deliver desired business outcomes.

  • Work with department leadership to manage the prioritization and throughput of projects.

  • Evangelize and drive the accurate use of project management processes and tools by demonstrating value across the department and with partners.

  • Support innovation and continuous improvement of Strategic Sourcing and PM processes.

  • Proactively build strong and trusted working relationships with internal and external collaborators.

  • Develop training curriculum or materials to support the development of GPS team members.

  • Complete project results/achievements as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience in project management

  • Solid command of project lifecycle and project management methodologies (e.g. PMI framework, agile/scrum)

  • Certification in PMI, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma belt

  • High emotional intelligence (EQ), specifically being an active listener and communicator that can convey sophisticated ideas in a clear, concise manner, both verbally and in writing to various levels of leadership

  • Ability to adapt to evolving priorities and work through ambiguity

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of procure-to-pay processes

  • Experience crafting, creating and delivering training

  • Knowledge of Finance Business Systems - Oracle, Coupa, and emerging P2P platforms such as e-Procurement, contract management, RFx tools, and supplier relationship management (SRM)

  • Experience with the Salesforce platform

  • Experience with flowcharting applications (Visio, LucidChart)

  • Advanced Smartsheet experience
