About Salesforce

We’re Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too — driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good – you’ve come to the right place.

Our team

The Research & Insights (R&I) team acts as a strategic thought partner to product leaders and go-to-market teams across Salesforce. We are passionate about understanding our customers and solving the problems they face, using data-driven insights to create experiences that delight. We balance big-picture thinking with detailed craft, collaborating along the way with product managers, designers, engineers, content writers, marketers, sales people, and strategy & operations leaders. Together, we shape the future of Salesforce for the benefit of millions of end users.

The role

The cross-product (also known as ‘Cross-Cloud’) Research & Insights team delivers insights that span Salesforce’s product portfolio, rather than being focused on a specific product. We cover broad and high-priority topics including AI, product adoption, product ethics, content experience, and more. We lead and work with some of the largest customer feedback data sources at Salesforce, including the IdeaExchange and customer satisfaction metrics (e.g. NPS).

We are seeking a self-driven, impact-oriented quantitative researcher to join our team. You’ll lead the strategy for leveraging customer feedback data at scale to inform top priorities for product leadership. You’ll partner closely with researchers, product leaders, and data & analytics colleagues in order to triangulate data between a variety of sources. You’ll partner with other researchers to lead large-scale surveys that inform the future of our product roadmaps. And as a senior member of Research & Insights, you will help mentor other researchers and amplify the impact of our team.

We're looking for curious individuals who want to get close to our customers and can seamlessly switch between strategic thinking and operational excellence. This role reports into the VP of Research & Insights, Cross-Cloud.

Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to surface and prioritize cross-product research needs, influencing decision-making

  • Act as a strategic business partner to leaders across Research & Insights, Product, Engineering, and Data & Analytics, helping shape the long-term vision for Salesforce’s products

  • Collaborate with Research Operations on operational priorities, including participant sourcing and vendor management

  • Establish and roll out best practices to enable and educate our cross-functional stakeholders

  • Help advocate for resources to achieve team objectives

  • Mentor junior researchers, helping amplify the impact of their work

Research

  • Conduct research using a mixture of research methods, with a particular focus on large-scale surveys and quantitative analysis, to produce actionable insights that inform business strategy and product design and development

  • Lead end-to-end research execution, collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., design, product management, engineering) to plan projects and ensure insights are used

  • Create narratives to frame problems and highlight the business value of potential solutions

  • Independently lead fast-paced projects with attention to detail, consistently delivering results against project timelines

Minimum requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in user research or product research, working closely with cross-functional teams or stakeholders

  • Expert understanding of quantitative research methods, best practices, and familiarity with a broad range of quantitative research tools (e.g. survey tools, SPSS, R)

  • Expert understanding of advanced survey and market research methodologies (e.g. MaxDiffs, Conjoint, segmentation, drivers analysis)

  • Expert understanding of survey sciences and statistics, including working with sample providers and vendors to resolve screening criteria, data collection and quality, and crosstabs/banners

  • Experience leading multiple concurrent research projects end-to-end (plan, design, implement and ensure uptake)

  • Ability to work successfully with constraints (e.g., limited resources, industry-specific regulations) and adapt quickly to meet project goals

  • Consistent record of influencing product and business strategy with actionable insights

  • Excellent project management, collaborator management, partnership/collaboration, and written and verbal communication skills

Nice-to-haves:

  • Knowledge of a relevant industry or subject domain, e.g., enterprise software, Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

  • Experience leading third-party vendor relationships

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We prioritize job seekers as our customers, unlike bigger job sites, by charging a small fee to provide them with curated access to the best companies and up-to-date jobs. This focus allows us to deliver a more personalized and effective job search experience.
  • Salaries for the engineering jobs on our site range from $100K-$200K. On average, senior engineer positions on our EchoJobs are about $160K.
  • The EchoJobs positions have been sourced and vetted from the top companies to work for in the US as a software engineer, including LinkedIn and other reputable job sites. We also have syndicated jobs from companies that have just raised funding, as well as those that have great unique products and culture. From all of these sources, our founder, Morgan, has also resourced the company's authenticity in terms of their website, public appearance, and more.
  • Yes, our users asked us for just this, so now our search filters allow you to search for your top jobs via location, as well as by onsite, remote, or both. Approximately 30% of our jobs are remote, so you’ve got the best options for you!
  • We have not yet implemented this option, but are considering doing so in the future. For the moment, you would need to cancel your subscription, and resubscribe when you wanted to come back.
  • We add new jobs to EchoJobs every day! We scan our sources for the newest jobs, verify them, and post them to EchoJobs within minutes. We add about 2,000-3,000 new jobs for you each day!
  • From starting your job search to getting hired, the entire job search process can take us software engineers anywhere between 3-6 months. However, at EchoJobs, we’re striving to shorten this duration by finding the best, newest jobs for you, so you can do less job searching, and more applying.
  • We’d recommend checking EchoJobs daily, as we add new jobs to the site each day. Additionally, if you got a chance to read our previous email on “what makes EchoJobs different from any other job search tools,” we also recommended that you set a job alert based on your job filters, so if you get emails on those new jobs, you could be checking more than once per day.
  • If you decide to continue with us after the 1-month trial, we definitely recommend this, as we all know it usually takes 3-6 months to find a quality job as a software engineer these days. So to best support you, we just adjusted our membership options at EchoJobs to monthly, 3 months, or 12 months (this option is more for passive job seekers looking a little bit for the future if they want to come back to work or make a job switch potentially. This lets you see what’s out there in case an even better fit job becomes available.)
  • EchoJobs is truly the only job site of its kind. We want to be THE spot for you to find the best job for you, and haven’t encountered any other company doing this. Other job sites are in niches besides software engineering or focus on a small portion of engineering jobs (like a specific coding language). In the words of Morgan, our founder, “I think what makes EchoJobs different is the amount of jobs, frequency that we add new jobs (we add 2,000-3,000 new jobs daily!), and the powerful search engines to find exactly the job you want more easily and efficiently. We can provide you with the most jobs that are vetted by us, we’ll continually find more new jobs for you, and we make it easier for you to apply and get hired.
