The Salesforce Marketing Analytics Platforms team is orchestrating this initiative, using data to advise and influence our decision-making processes.

We are on the lookout for a hard-working, top-tier Principal Data Engineer to help sculpt our data offerings. In this critical role, you will develop, deploy, and lead scalable data solutions that unearth insights and enable data-centric decision-making throughout the company. Collaborating closely with various engineering and product teams, you will pioneer innovative data engineering approaches to further Salesforce's dedication to customer success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical beacon for multiple teams, guiding solution and technical design.
  • Set the standard in delivering outstanding data products through the use of sophisticated technologies, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
  • Champion continuous improvement of both the quality and efficiency of the team's outputs.
  • Communicate sophisticated solution designs, high-level architecture, and strategic vision to product teams, partners, and executives.
  • Mentor other senior and lead engineers in the  team, elevating their skills and knowledge, primarily through insightful reviews.
  • Realize the vision of transitioning to a modern data stack, transforming our data products into a reliable, efficient, and self-sustaining resource that facilitates self-service tools. 
  • Architect and design solutions.
  • Act as a technical leader for multiple teams by providing overall solution/technical design oversight.

Qualifications 

  • *Over 15 years of experience in Data, with at least 6 years in data architecture, pipelines, infrastructure, governance, and quality.
  • Profound expertise in delivering enterprise data engineering solutions and analytics data governance.
  • Experience defining and implementing a long-term data vision and strategy, yielding incremental enterprise value.
  • Proficiency with AWS, DBT, Snowflake, Salesforce Data Cloud, and custom ingestion platforms.
  • Outstanding collaborative abilities and effective communication with both technical and non-technical partners.
  • Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, GIT, and release management practices.
  • Experience with Tableau / Tableau CRM.
  • Consistent record working with cross-geographical teams.
  • Prior experience with Salesforce products and data ecosystem is a plus.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $204,400 to $296,400.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $223,000 to $323,400.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
