Technical Program Managers (TPMs) play a significant role at Salesforce in leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives within our Technology organizations. TPMs are responsible for programs through from beginning to end, ensuring a better workflow and more effective communication. They work closely with executives and key company partners to drive critical programs and activities across the company!

We are seeking an experienced Lead Technical Program Manager who will be an essential part of the Analytics Platform team responsible for transforming Salesforce’s marketing strategy, technology, experience, and operations in support of the CMO Marketing Technology organization. You will ensure alignment and communication across the leadership, stakeholder, and partner teams and product teams while driving strategic initiatives across Marketing Technology, Field Marketing, Brand and Events Marketing, and Product Marketing.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • At the direction of Product Management and in partnership with engineering, architecture and business stakeholders ensure each owned program has a clear vision, outlined goals, and defined success metrics

  • Ensure the program operates efficiently and in collaboration with contributing teams by hosting regular status meetings and any other program ceremonies (as required)

  • Ensure deliverables are aligned across contributing teams (with committed timelines) for owned programs 

  • Ensure dependencies are identified, documented, tracked, and monitored across contributing teams for the successful planning and execution of owned programs

  • Ensure decision making, escalation, and change control processes are in place for owned programs

  • Cultivate a collaborative, transparent environment by hosting program retrospectives after completion of critical milestones and upon program closure to continuously improve delivery processes

  • Assess, track, and resolve blockers to delivery of program goals

  • Assess, document, and communicate risks to program delivery to appropriate stakeholders and partner with delivery teams on implementing mitigation plans wherever feasible

  • Provide clear, open communication to leadership, stakeholders, and co-delivery teams regarding the status of program health, progression, and critical milestones leveraging key systems, channels, and templates

  • Performs other related duties as required


 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of industry and project management experience

  • 5+ years of scrum master experience

  • 5+ years of enterprise software/technical program or engineering management experience at an enterprise technology company

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a history of hands-on, detail orientation

  • Deep experience with the software development lifecycle; ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment using agile methodologies

  • Ability to master technical subjects and technologies relevant to the program

  • Ability to lead productive calls, identify decisions made, and clearly state action items

  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and team members.

  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills conducive to driving consensus; able to work in a cross-functional, matrix management environment.

  • Experience with Portfolio Management.

  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic with proven creative and critical thinking capabilities

  • Highly proficient in MS Office, Slack, Google Docs, LucidChart, Smartsheets, GUS (Grand Unified System), virtual meeting software.

Preferences:

  • Experience working within or with Enterprise scale organizations in a consultancy / professional services capacity a plus

  • Project delivery experience within SaaS, CRM, Tableau and Snowflake is strongly preferred

  • Certifications - PMP or CSM (preferred but not required)

  • Technology - Familiarity with our tech stack: Salesforce Sales & Marketing Clouds, common 3rd-party Event / Webinar providers, network / API

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in business or computer science or relevant experience
