We’re Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too — driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good – you’ve come to the right place.

As a Front End Lead Engineer you’ll use your extensive knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to improve the Heroku user experience. You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to spec, conceptualize, build, test and deploy new features for our large user base.

The Heroku Front End Engineering is a team of software engineers with a diverse group of backgrounds, different areas of expertise, and similar passions for software development that highly involves aesthetics, design, and cross functional/platform team work! We all work together to deliver a rich platform experience for our customers. At our core, we are problem solvers in the technology industry with an ability to notice what the customer experiences. Our vision is to deliver and maintain High Quality, Accessible, and Performant Platform Management Experiences designed on modern web software development frameworks.

Heroku has a positive, diverse, and supportive culture; we look for people who are curious, inventive, and work to be a little better every single day. In our work, together we aim to be smart, humble, hardworking and above all, collaborative. Our team is distributed, so working asynchronously with intentional collaboration is a key value.

What you will be doing:

  • You'll brainstorm with other leads, Architects, Product Managers and Designers to conceptualize and plan new features

  • You'll learn about new web technologies and discuss potential solutions to problems

  • You'll help our skilled support team triage bugs and troubleshoot production issues

  • You'll mentor other engineers and deeply review code

  • You’ll monitor our systems as part of an on-call rotation

  • You’ll help evolve our front-end applications to meet the evolving needs of our customers, our platform, and adapt to changes in the wider front-end ecosystem

Requirements:

  • 6+ years working on large-scale, complex production web applications

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team and a willingness to take ownership of problems

  • Experience with TypeScript and Rub

  • Experience with modern HTML5, CSS3

  • Working experience with modern front-end frameworks, such as Ember, React, Vue, Rails, etc. to have an opinion of the trajectory of the front-end ecosystem

  • Working experience with development tools such as Webpack or Vite, JavaScript package management, ESM (ECMAScript Modules)

  • Awareness of TypeScript and comfort with helping to evolve a codebase to make more use of TypeScript

  • Experience with responsive web design and awareness of modern approaches (such as container queries)

  • Experience with building applications that satisfy web accessibility guidelines, and an awareness of techniques for building accessibility-first applications

  • Strong understanding of the fundamentals of web page and site performance, especially an awareness of how to use the Chrome developer tools to identify and address performance bottlenecks in the context of production applications

  • Strong understanding of web application security (mitigating DDOS attacks, Web application firewall, Cross-site Scripting, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of modern frontend modularity, including components and separating model logic from UI logic

  • Experience mentoring inexperienced engineers

  • Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them to completion while coordinating with other engineers on active projects or to help plan upcoming projects

  • Proven ability to communicate technical designs with clear documentation and visualization

  • Understanding front-end testing methodologies, test-driven development, and associated frameworks (QUnit, Mocha, and other related test frameworks a plus)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

As a student navigating the job market, I've found LinkedIn increasingly frustrating due to numerous fake postings by consultancies. In contrast, this job posting website has been a game-changer for me. It offers genuine opportunities and a straightforward application process, making it much easier to find and apply for real jobs. Highly recommend it to fellow students seeking reliable job listings!

Echo Jobs has been exceptional in my job hunt where it provides one platform to job hunt and I don't have to open 10 websites just to look for a job. It has also helped me focus much on the job skill and the location filtering out the onsite jobs and remote ones. The only feature that I would request is to display fully remote jobs that are not restricted to a country since the one available shows ie, Remote, US yet. But if it could show remote only, that would be helpful not only to me but to other people applying for full remote and not tied to only US candidates

I found EchoJobs in 2022, and I love it. It has a lot of remote jobs. It's exclusive to software and technology jobs (helpful for devs like me). What I like the most are its filters and its API. If you're a tech professional seeking remote work, I highly recommend giving it a try to EchoJobs.

Simply put, it's the most up to date tech jobs aggregator I’ve found. I'm like... "I don't have to check 10+ jobs boards daily just to see if there's a new job listing? sign me up!" The filters are also quite helpful! The UI is very clean and straightforward. Love it!
