Staff Technical Program Manager – Engineering Compliance

SailPoint is seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager – Engineering Compliance to join our Engineering Operations team who is passionate about delivering high business value and is experienced in all facets of the development of products from start to finish to ensure they meet internal and external customer needs and preferences.
- This highly technical role will be:
- The primary interface between Engineering Leaders and our Compliance team for requests and questions around evidence that will be presented to auditors.
- Embedded with Engineering Managers and Directors and will own and represent evidence gathering, sample sets, and will support technical decisions and discussions with our Compliance team in preparation for Audits and Auditor reviews (PCI, C5, SOC 2, ISO, etc.).
- The primary owner of inputs for the document retention repository (formatting, content additions, content delivery, etc.)
Day to Day
- The day-to-day responsibilities for this role will be to own the interaction between Engineering Managers/Directors and the Compliance Director.
- This role will represent the Engineering Managers/Directors and be the “go to” person to collect evidence required for control review, answer questions about evidence gathered/submitted, address day-to-day challenges and needs of the Compliance Director and Auditors.
- The role will also own the document retention repository regarding format, organization, content, and artifact delivery. This role will set calendar invites and open tasks/sub-tasks in JIRA for Engineering teams when requests and needs arise.
To be successful in this role you must:
- Be extremely organized as you will be responsible for multiple Engineering Managers/Directors outputs.
- Have a deep understanding of technical program management in a fast-moving technology business and be able to demonstrate your experience.
- Have deep technical understanding of Cloud Computing, Hardware architecture and utilization, as well as end to end Software Development Lifecycle from a Compliance perspective and be able to demonstrate your experience.
- Be outgoing. This is a “people interactive” role, where the ideal candidate will be expected to own request and outputs and will interface with multiple cross-functional teams to deliver what is needed to our Compliance team.
- Have deep experience in utilizing JIRA, SharePoint, Confluence and PowerPoint as these tools will be the cornerstone of the tooling for this role and be able to demonstrate your experience.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills – be able to demonstrate executive presence and be able to clearly and concisely present information to Executive Leadership
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated understanding of Cloud Computing, Hardware architecture and utilization, as well as end to end Software Development Lifecycle from a Compliance perspective and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Deep expertise in driving multiple, complex, cross-functional programs in a fast-paced technology company
- Collaborating with Engineering teams to ensure evidence is delivered on time and within budget.
- Developing and maintaining documentation and the document repository
- Communicating status updates to stakeholders and Executive Leadership
- Collaborating with the Compliance team and auditors to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into audit ready outputs.
- Developing JIRA tickets to drive workflow requests and needs of Engineering teams
- Monitoring and evaluating evidence progress at each stage of the process.
Requirements:
- 7-10+ years of experience working as a Software Developer/Data Center Operations Leader
- 2-5+ years of experience working as a Technical Program Manager
- Direct experience with Cloud Computing, Hardware architecture and utilization, as well as end to end Software Development Lifecycle from a Compliance perspective is a must
- Experience with Compliance, evidence collection, etc. is a plus
- High initiative and passion helping teams continuously improve program/project delivery.
- Experience working with agile development methodologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and development teams
- Excellent analytical skills/problem-solving abilities/making data-driven decisions
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of JIRA, SharePoint, Confluence and PowerPoint
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, MIS, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry work experience, preferred not required
- Must be curious and interested in data and evidence collection
- Good understanding/experience of Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google) and related technologies, monitoring, and enablement practices, along with SDLC.
- Experience with Dev Ops and Engineering based operations
- Experience with FedRAMP, HITRUST, SOC2, and other compliance related certifications
- Agile/Scrum training
- Effective delivery of products using Agile/Kanban development methodology using various tools such as JIRA, Github, Kanban is preferred.
- Experience with Portfolio for Jira or other similar portfolio management tools is a plus.
