Job Description

The SaaS Applications IT Project Manager plays a crucial role in steering and overseeing projects and services within our organization.  They ensure that the scope, actions and deliverables from the project teams remain focused, are implemented on time, and meet business requirements.  Expect to guide and interact with cross-functional teams of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and business stakeholders spanning the entire SailPoint organization (e.g. Engineering, IT, Cybersecurity, Sales, Marketing, Finance and Services).

Our ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to react quickly to situations while balancing project deliverables and objectives.  You should be able to employ a blended approach to project management, using your strong technical skills, natural consensus building ability, and a detailed logistical capability.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead complex cross-functional and cross-organizational IT security projects of diverse scope throughout the complete lifecycle, delivering results on time and on budget
  • Create project scope, plans, objectives, and documentation
  • Report and carefully track project status, resources, budget, roadblocks and alert key stakeholders to risks
  • Balance stakeholder objectives against resources, budget, and strategy
  • Interact with all levels of our workforce including senior management
  • Ability to organize both personal and project time & teams to drive results and overcome challenges
  • Identify and implement best practices and continuous improvements via post project reviews and root cause analysis.
  • Responsible for project change management and scope negotiation
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation across multiple projects at a time
  • Report and escalate any issues that jeopardize projects
  • Help evaluate business requirements and collaborate on technology solutions
  • Act as a trusted resource in providing project support to technical & business stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Required Skills

The IT Project Manager enjoys leading project teams, working with security technology, and solving business problems in innovative ways.  You will have the ability to overcome obstacles, deliver consistent results, and have a solid understanding of IT security technologies, cloud infrastructure, SaaS applications and services. You want to see the continued acceptance and success of our solutions at SailPoint. You are an integral consensus builder of all stakeholders at different levels throughout the organization, are an excellent communicator, are diplomatic, and timely in conveying deliverables.

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Business, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years minimum of IT program management and/or project management in an enterprise setting
  • Complete understanding and application of project management principles, concepts, practices, and standards.  Full knowledge of industry PM best practices.
  • Strong understanding of IT principles, technologies, and best practices
  • Proven experience managing large-scale IT projects
  • Strong IT business analysis skills
  • Knowledge of IT systems, applications, and cloud services including enterprise SaaS applications and architectures
  • Experience evaluating and implementing technical solutions to solve business problems (especially in the SaaS space)
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Proven ability to develop requirements, document business processes and workflows, and prioritize stakeholder needs against product features
  • Strong negotiating skills and ability to build a final consensus on a common set of requirements from all clients and stakeholders
  • Ability to guide a mature IT implementation process while still maintaining an adaptable mindset
  • Ability to lead and influence a project team that does not directly report to you
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Vendor and resource management experience
  • PMP certification not required, but is a plus

Within the first month:  

  • You will be trained on the SailPoint products, the team’s current responsibilities, data sources, and internal processes.
  • You will explore data sources for reporting initiatives and support with continuous iteration and improvement. 
  • You will have demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail in your contributions.

Within three months:

  • You will support extracting and analyzing data for monthly and quarterly team/stakeholder presentations.
  • You will have demonstrated familiarity with the reporting environment, business processes, and stakeholders.
  • You will have been exposed to the current state efforts and deliverables and will increasingly assume ownership of reporting initiatives.

Within one year:

  • You have established yourself as the point-of-contact for Compliance’s reporting initiatives.
  • Your process optimization efforts have allowed Compliance to provide actionable, timely and relevant guidance to the enterprise.

Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):

$71,890 - $102,700 - $133,510

Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
