Overview:

SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to design and build backend solutions as a part of our Core Services team. The Core Services team manages services that address cross-cutting concerns, such as authentication, document storage and signatures, and email delivery. You will be making architectural decisions that impact both your and other squads. You'll join a team of backend engineers to solve challenging problems in a collaborative and rewarding environment. What you’d be doing:
- Design, implement, and test services and APIs with the support of your squad.
- Develop client libraries and API documentation for squads that need to integrate with Core Services.
- Make data-based decisions to continuously improve the availability, performance, and maintainability of our services.
- Communicate our plans, architectural decisions, features, and processes through documentation and demos.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Significant professional experience in either Java or Go, with a willingness to work in both languages.
- Experience building or integrating with REST APIs.
- Experience building API specs, client libraries, and documentation for other development teams.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining distributed systems.
Highly preferred candidates also have:
- Experience with Authentication and Identity Management technologies: OAuth, OIDC, SAML.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring, JDBC/JPA, Postgresql.
- Experience monitoring and supporting services in production using observability tools: Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and/or Dynatrace.
- Experience using cloud platforms and/or containerized application deployments, especially AWS and Kubernetes.
